If you love Oscar de la Renta's live in love Eau de Parfum, prepare to fall head over heels for this scented body scrub. The creamy formula hydrates skin while leaving behind a gorgeous scent. Light notes like sweet hyacinth, rose, and jasmine sambac lend an ultra-feminine feel, while the woody scents of amber, musk, and sandalwood give it a unique edge.
This scrub was nice with the right amount of exfoliation, but the smell was too strong for me. I liked it, but I felt like it competed with my perfume (which I love!) so I am not planning to purchase it2
The body scrub did its job, I suppose. It was somewhat hard to get a good sense of it because the sample size was about half of what I'd need to actually wash my body. Maybe I overuse products.
The real problem for me was the scent. It's one of those scents that, to me, doesn't smell like anything except perfume. And, old perfume at that. I don't mean that the smell was rancid, but rather that it smelled like a heavy, old-school fragrance. It's definitely not something I would expect anyone under 40 to wear and if someone over 40 did wear it, I would expect them to be stodgy and dull.
I used this body scrub last night in the shower. The scent is very strong. In fact, in my opinion, it is overpowering for a body wash/scrub. I prefer a light frgrance in my shower products, as I always wear perfume anyways. Also, the sample was extremely stingy. I barely got one full wash from it.2
I wasn't a fan of this at all. It smelled too perfume-y. It did an alright job exfoliating, about as much a a body pouf would. Wasn't at all moisturizing.1
Neutral on it's cleaning ability - does the job on par with others; no better, no worse. Strong odor. If you like the scent go for it - the scrub has a scent that lasts. Unfortunately, I don't like the scent - it's heavier than I like and reminds me of something my grandmother might've worn. I discarded the sample after one try.1
I wanted to like this product, but the sample was barely enough for one use. I also do not care for floral and woodsy scents, so that didn't work for me either. It also didn't really feel like a scrub.1
This smelled fine, nothing fantastic. There just was not enough of a scrub to this soap. The little beads just immediately dissolved before any scrubbing could happen. Have used more effective scrubbs that leave your skin silky. This product fails to produce that silky skin.1
This was way too gentle, I felt like it hardly exfoliated at all. Also, it smelled a little too much like a cleaning product to me.1
The smell was overpowering. I didn't notice any quality benefits over suave to be honest. I would not reccomend this.1
Oscar de la Renta? Really? The smell was too strong and I was not impressed that this brand was selected as a Birchbox sample. :(1
