Amp up your beauty regimen with this product-enhancing elixir. Clinical studies show that the ultrathin, water-like formula strengthens skin’s moisture barrier by up to 50 percent, giving a boost to your existing skincare products. Even better? The translucent serum is free of sulfates, synthetic fragrance and dyes, and genetic modified organisms (aka GMOs).
The texture is too water-like. My skin was irritated, red and dry after 2 days of using this product. The smell is also not very pleasant.1
The smell was not pleasant and the burning and redness after using this product was very uncomfortable. Would not recommend for sensitive skin.1
If I could give this negative stars I would. Half an hour after applying to my face I was red and burning all over. It was like a chemical burn. It lasted for hours even after i washed my face. I don't have super sensitive skin and use quite a lot of acne products that can be on the harsh side, but this did not agree with me at all.1
I should have read the reviews before using... I developed a burning feeling after putting on and had to immediately wash off with cold water! Left a red rash for a view hours. One of the worst products I've received from BirchBox.1
I was also a victim of the red burning rash all over my face that would not go away even after several washes. Due to the massive response of the exact same reactions, this product should be discontinued!1
The smell of this product made me nauseous! It was unbelievably horrible. Had to wash it off immediately but it seemed to not go away.1
I should have read the review before using this product. I as well developed a red burning rash on my face within a few minutes of applying. The rash and burning lasted for hours, which was not only uncomfortable, but a little embarrassing since I had to work that day. My Birch Box sample is now in the trash.1
I've been reading all the reviews with one star and it seems I'm not alone. I do not generally have sensitive skin. I used this at night before bed and woke up with extremely swollen areas on my face. They have subsided, but I look like my face and neck have been very badly sunburned and they itch like crazy!! Definitely will not use again. And a warning that if you have a date, job interview, or anything important coming up within the week do not use for the first time!!1
I wish I would have read the reviews before trying this sample. I love trying new products but right after applying it, the elixir made me feel like my face was on fire! My entire face got red and started burning. I washed it off right away and luckily didn't have any lasting effects but I would NOT recommend this product to anyone!1
I had heard good things about DDF products, so I was excited to try this. After washing my face before bed, I applied my regular moisturizer, dutifully followed it with the elixir, then went to bed.
The next morning, I followed the same wash+moisturizer+elixir routine, added minimal makeup, then went off to work.
By lunch time, I had horrific acne erupting on my chin and cheeks. I don't have sensitive skin and haven't had acne since I was 17; more surprising: I haven't EVER had cystic acne before!! Still, I didn't blame the elixir--I figured it was just one of those things.
However, after letting the acne heal and then experimenting a bit, I can say without hesitation that this product was the culprit. If I leave it out of my skincare routine, my face is fine. If it use it, I get painful cystic acne on my cheeks and whiteheads on my chin. Every single time.
The elixir glides onto my skin and I had no issues with it when I first put it on. The acne thing, as you can guess, is a deal-breaker.
It's obviously a great product for some, but for me, it's literally painful.
