Our colleagues in the UK refer to these tress essentials as kirbies or hair grips, while in the US it’s thought their name comes from the phrase bits and bobs. Whatever you call them, bobby pins are a must-have in every beauty arsenal—and there’s no reason you need to hide them. This exclusive set of six chicly patterned pins adds instant style to all your ‘dos—display them proudly.
I received the blue ones and I love the design. I plan to wear them when my hair is down on either side of my head to hold my hair back.4
These Birchbox bobbypins are fun and hold hair up surprisingly well! Very durable even for my long hair.4
i prefer smaller, thinner bobby pins- they hold my hair better and can be more manageable. These were cute as a button but held only the part where the bend was and the open part my hair felt out of, so having were needed.
I was so excited to get these pins in my box this month, but they are really hard to strategically place in my hair, and it HURT to pull them out. They are too tight -- needs a redesign!2
I got these hair pins and immediately thought, wow, these are pretty flat...I don't think they will hold my hair. I was so wrong! They are flat and smooth on the outside, but the inside is magical! They held onto my crazy, flyaway hair all day without slipping or sliding, and didn't rip my hair out when I took them out - love them - and they are cute, too!5
These are adorable! However, as many others have said, the tension is ridiculous and trying to get them into my hair ends with a lot of aggravation and lost hair when I take them out. I think if the tension wasn't so tight, they would be better and appeal to more folks. They are cute though...I'll probably give them to my sister to see if she has any luck with them.1
Yes, like other people have said, these are super strong and a little hard to get out of your hair. But I'm OK with that. I have super short hair so I wear bobby pins frequently as an accessory. These are really perfect for me. They are large and they stay where I put them. They are also cute, but not overly "girly", so that's nice too.5
These are so cute and are also super strong. If you put these in your hair they are going to stay.4
I have very thick hair, and a bunch of wispy shorter hairs in the front that never grow out, so I need a bunch of bobby pins and hair clips on hand at all times. Regular old black pins get boring though, and these are very cute! They're relatively large and strong, and although they can be a little awkward (they're very straight, as others have said), they hold hair in place very well and are low-maintenance enough to wear all day without having to fiddle with them repeatedly.4
Like I said before, these pins have great hold and are very sturdy as well as pretty (a huge plus for my wavy, thick, coarse-fine mixed hair!) but I do have to say that they seemed to take a bit of my hair with them when I tried to remove them. So, they stay in really well, but it also means that they're a bit hard to take out!3
