The South Korean sensation of BB cream has gone global—and revolutionized our beauty regimens. Good for all skin tones and types, this multitasking version from Canadian brand Marcelle hydrates and calms skin, controls shine, masks imperfections, and infuses your complexion with just the right amount of color. Self-adjusting pigments, antioxidants, aloe, and chamomile work in conjunction to soothe and moisturize, even out skin tone, minimize the appearance of pores and blemishes, promote skin renewal, and protect against aging and environmental factors. It comes in three shades (light to medium, medium to dark, dark to darker), and its hypoallergenic, gluten-free, and perfume-free.
I'm a Dr. Jart girl myself, but after receiving Marcelle's BB Cream in my Birchbox I am happy to have found my emergency backup.
It lasted all day, was hydrating, provided great coverage and acted as the perfect primer. The lightest color is still a little dark for my skin tone, but not terribly noticeable.
There will now be a Marcelle BB Cream in my collection for those days when I've run out of Dr. Jart.
Love this. Goes on nicely and is perfect for summer with the golden glow. Does not have an sort of perfume-y scent which is a big bonus for me!3
Never tried a BB before and feel lucky to have gotten in my box. Great reviews for a reason! Decent sized sample but wish it was a lil bigger4
I liked this BB cream alot. I got this BB cream in my August Birchbox in Golden Glow and the coverage was great, as was the consistency which was better than most other BB creams I have tried. I also liked how light it felt on my skin. I will most likely be purchasing this in the future.4
I received a sample of this particular brand in a past birchbox and loved it. For my first full sized purchase I decided to buy it because I have recently been using more tinted BB creams to replace foundation. My skin tone is medium, but tends to change with the seasons because of hispanic background causing my color to tan easier. I am pretty happy with the way my skin looks but have always wanted to cover slight imperfections and discolorations. Foundation always makes my skin look so fake and tends to be so heavy. This BB cream covers great and looks natural! It is one of the best I have ever used. It doesn't leave my skin feeling dry like most, as well as having just the right amount of color for great coverage while letting your natural beauty shine through. The price is more than I am accustomed too, but the product is worth it and a little goes a long way!5
I'm really not sure how many more BB or CC creams I am going to keep getting in my Birchbox so here's my review for like the millionth one.
I completely understand the difference between a BB and CC cream and since I do not have any pigmentation issues, the coverage of a BB is sufficient. This particular product did not have the stay power that I would have liked. It peeled around my nose and was almost non-existent by the end of the day. It also did not play well with my under-eye concealer, making it look cakey and discolored fairly quickly.
Maybe I am being over critical but I was a bit disappointed that the "light to medium" shade was still too dark for my skin. I really wanted to use this product and loved the texture and consistency but it just wasnt meant for my skin2
I watched one of the videos off of the BirchBox website on travel essentials - products that help make you look a little more refreshed after a flight. This was one of the products in the video. It seems to be a little less watery than other BBs I've tried. Some of the others don't offer as much coverage. I thought this one was still light enough but just the right amount of color to even out skin tone. This product travels well too. It's easier to take a long than a glass bottle or other tubes: it has a soft tube with a pump. I'm happiest with this BB so far and will probably be ordering more!5
Normally I don't wear foundation, bb cream, cc cream or primer, I just wear sunblock and powder. I decided to try this since it was in my August sample box and is described as being "lightweight". It is, but I don't really see the point -- it seemed to even out my skin tone a bit, but I get the same result by dusting on pressed powder, which feels lighter to me. Also, by mid-day my nose looks shiny (it claims to be anti-shine). I'm just not impressed.3
I got this product in the August birch box it seems like the perfect consistency for a bb creme but the the downside is that it smells awful. It smells very chemically.2
