Most of us are, er, intimately familiar with the shaping power of well-constructed undergarments. Enter Marcelle’s Twist Push-Up Mascara, which creates the same effect for eyelashes. Its adjustable brush both defines and adds volume to lashes, resulting in that coveted doe-eyed look. Plus, the coal-black mascara is hypoallergenic and perfume-free, and it doesn’t clump or flake off.
i recently discovered this brand through birchbox. as a libra, i really like options, and i also have a friend named marcelle, so i couldn't resist trying this mascara. :)
this mascara is not for makeup novices. this truly is a serious mascara with two different brushes in one package. when you first pull the wand out, the brush is extended and you apply one coat with the brush in that position for long, defined lashes. then, if you twist the base of the wand, the brush compresses for volume. you can either re-dip the wand or use the leftover mascara on the second step. either way, this combo creates perfectly defined lashes with no clumps and no wilting.
be warned though, that this is not really for a quick swipe of mascara when you're running out the door (if you're going to do that, i suggest skipping the first step and using the compressed brush). i also do not recommend two coats using only the extended brush because i wound up with lashes that looked incredibly fake. you need to pay attention with this one but it's well worth it.
I was looking for a new mascara because the one I had been using or years was discontinued! I was heartbroken. I was looking through birch box's mascara's when I found this one. Its completely amazing, the first coat lengthens your lashes, then the second one makes it look full. Usually doing my mascara I would use two different mascaras, but not anymore! I would definitely recommend this to anyone thats obsessed with their lashes.5
Full thick lashes but didn't find the twist in the brush very useful. The product does not clump which is a bonus.4
Really loved this mascara. One coat of darken and twist and it thickens. Would buy again and recommend to everyone.5
I've been using another masacara that combines fibers with a mascara gel. It looked great, but was a pain to get off and my esthetician was forever reprimanding me that it was terrible for my lashes. Marcelle gives me the same results without the hassle. I'm sold.5
I am not a huge fan of this mascara. I don't think everyone likes the same things and that is okay. This mascara does not provide full lashes for me. I need length and fullness which makes me a hard customer for mascara. I am on hunt for the right one.2
I never ever leave the house without mascara. I like formulas that add volume and length. I had such high hopes for this be mascara. It was horrible! Thick, chunky, clumpy. I had to use my metal toothed eye lash comb too get rid of the worst clumps then it rained down like dandruff all day long. I'll stick with Eyeko black magic thank you very much.1
This is a fantastic little mascara for the price. Certainly not the best or my favorite but it is perfect for your getaway bag. The twist of the brush is fun, I would use the length side first and then twist it to the volume and my lashes would look great. Doing the volume side first left my lashes looking a little sad, so use the lengthening side first for sure. This will coat your lashes with the mascara evenly before you move on to adding volume.4
This stuff works to well for me. I added the Marcelle eye makeup removing eyeliner and mascara to my May birchbox and I am so glad I did. It makes my lashes look so full and hardly any clumps. Already bought 2 more :)5
I saw this mascara was highly rated so I purchased it. The twist wand was pretty neat but I only use it twisted up and not out. Although it claims to not clump, it does. I have to "de-clump" my lashes every time a use it. It definitely doesn't flake off though. It stays put. It's unlikely I'll purchase this product again.4
