Traditional shampoos rely on sulfates to create a thick lather, but the flip side is that they can be incredibly harsh and drying especially on color-treated hair that needs the moisture most. This ultra-gentle shampoo is formulated without sulfates to ensure that it removes buildup without stripping color. After all, highlights can cost a pretty penny—we want to make them last!
I liked the smell of the shampoo but I was a disappointed. I didn't think it cleaned my hair that well and had to use more conditioner to make my hair feel soft again.1
I had an allergic reaction in my eyes to this product. Not sure if it was the shampoo or conditioner. Awful. Other than that, I was excited to see a color safe product.1
I didn't want to leave a review without trying this product, but I rarely stray from my normal shampoo because nothing lives up to it. This didn't either. I am a "bleach and tone" girl and this shampoo/conditioner combo left my hair feeling like straw. It didn't style well either.
My normal shampoo/conditioner combo is Kerastase (green line) and I love love love it. My hair feels silky soft after using and I only need to wash once a week. The difference was HUGE.
These samples are going in my trash sadly.
I have slightly fine color treated hair. I did not like the smell of this and when my hair dried it was weighed down and looked oily. I would not recommend at all.1
This shampoo was thick and clumpy and didn't lather. It left my hair feeling dry and unmanageable. This is the first time I've tried sulfate-free shampoo and perhaps it's just not my thing. I have thick, curly, colored hair and it did nothing for me.1
It has a clean, fruity smell, but does not lather up and didn't leave my hair feeling soft. I use a different sulfate free, less expensive shampoo and like it better because of the smell, price, and because it lathers better.1
The thing I don't really like about sulfate-free shampoos is that I just don't feel like I'm getting a good cleaning. These don't lather up the way other shampoos do and I'd rather use a color-retention shampoo that creates a little more of a lather yet doesn't strip the color from my hair than to have to dump gobs and gobs of a sulfate-free product on my hair.1
Very odd consistency and didn't feel that it cleaned my hair very well.1
I hated the smell of this shampoo so much I just couldn't get past it. There are so many other products on the market that are sulfate free and smell amazing, that I can't see any reason to choose this one over the others. Sorry!1
I have super curly hair which I love and this shampoo pulled out my curls and made it feel like straw. Definitely not a favorite.1
