The reason this highlighter is so amazing at bringing out our good features, we think, is that it has so many good features of its own. It gives skin a sheer, glowing look without excessive shine or sparkle, and is made with all organic, pure ingredients—like coconut oil and rosemary extract—meaning it's good for your skin too. The slight iridescence of its light-reflecting minerals (no disco ball effect) works to subtly reflect the light and make you look fresh-faced.
I expected an amazing product after reading all of the reviews for this luminizer, but I can't say I'm very impressed. I guess highlighter is supposed to be very subtle, but I don't feel like it really perks me up or anything. I also dislike that I feel like I need to be wearing a full face of makeup to even notice it on myself.3
The other reviews are correct in that the effect of this highlighter is very subtle. You will notice it when the light hits the areas you've highlighted. That said, I did not find it overly greasy as others commented. In fact, I barely felt it after application.3
I really wanted to love this product and was so excited to try it given the reviews. But I was disappointed once I got it in the mail and had a chance to play with it. Granted, I may just need to fine tune my application and technique with this, but I think its very shiny. It is not shiny like shimmer or sparkle like some of the highlighters out there. But it made me feel like I was extremely oily looking with a sheer glisten to add. I may have applied too much and maybe in the wrong places, but I do think you need to practice and figure out what works for you.3
This has a nice shimmer, but it doesn't really soak in. I use it right under my eye lids where I won't smudge it accidentally.3
While the color is nice, I was not fond of the texture and consistency. I would compare it to applying some type of sheer sticky lip balm to your face, which is not something I would really like to do.3
I cannot believe I paid $38 for this. It's totally fine, don't get me wrong, but I just don't think it's worth the price. It's really small for the price, too. I was really surprised at how small the pot was when it arrived.
I was really excited to receive this, but it hardly shows up on my skin at all. I have to use a lot on my cheekbones to even notice it. Which wouldn't be a huge ordeal if it wasn't so pricey!3
I like the color and the subtle shimmer glow it gives you, however, it is just a little too greasy for my skin type. I think if you have a drier face it would do just fine.3
I thought this product would be more luminous than it was! It does not really make as much difference as I thought. It does, however, have a good additional moisturizing effect which is good in dry climates.3
I'm not really big on makeup, but have been wanting to find something more natural that feels less cakey and heavy on my face. This is a really nice luminzer - creamy, but not thick or heavy, much like the rest of the rms line. It also isn't too sparkly or anything like that - just the right amount of shine to catch the light and make you look more awake. Looks nice on the eyelids, too, to kind of brighten up the eyes without using an actual eye shadow.4
