This highlighter is so amazing at bringing out our good features. It gives skin a sheer, glowing look without excessive shine or sparkle, and is made with all organic, pure ingredients—like coconut oil and rosemary extract—meaning it's good for your skin too. The slight iridescence of its light-reflecting minerals (no disco ball effect) works to subtly reflect the light and make you look fresh-faced.
I had heard about this product for quite some time but I was concerned about a few things... First the coconut oil base - would it make my skin break out? Nope! Second, is the shimmer really different? Yes - the shimmer is very subtle and more ethereal rather than glittery. And third, I have oily skin - will this make me look greasy? No, if you apply very sparingly. And I will also add that I apply this over powder so that the rest of my skin has a matte finish.
If you are expecting a dramatic highlight, this product might not be for you... However if you are looking for a subtle glow, add this to your cart STAT!
On the positive side, there is a finally a shimmer for adult women on the market! That's right ladies (and I don't mean "girls"), no chunky glitter, no fairy-like iridescence, no sorority sister shimmer bronzer. This product provides a soft, subtle, wearable, daytime/job-with-responsibility appropriate, dewy subtle luminescence to your face. Thank the lord! Finally!
The downside, for me, is that it's hard to blend. Imagine a pot of chapstick, and you've got the texture about right. It's just very difficult to move it across your face. Personally, I can't make it not look splotchy with just my fingers. I have to apply it first with a finger and then go over it with a brush. This is a bummer because, as a real live adult working woman, I don't spend more than 5 minutes on my makeup.
As for the staying power-it's not terrible, but it's also note notable either. While the sticky "chapstick" medium that contains the luminescent particles stays on most of the day, the actual shimmer gradually declines within the first few hours of wear.
I do like it's a natural product. For me, that really means a lot, and I'm willing to try other products from this maker for that very reason.
Very disappointed with this product even though I kept it.
For me, it doesn't spread evenly and is clumpy in spots.
This has a nice shimmer, but it doesn't really soak in. I use it right under my eye lids where I won't smudge it accidentally.3
I cannot believe I paid $38 for this. It's totally fine, don't get me wrong, but I just don't think it's worth the price. It's really small for the price, too. I was really surprised at how small the pot was when it arrived.
I'm not sure why this stuff is so expensive, but I was persuaded to purchase due to good reviews. The product seems small, but I have had for nearly a year and it's still going. The highlighting is so subtle I sometimes layer it in triplicate just to see something. Blends well, with absolutely no scent though, so that is nice.4
I am somewhat of a minimalist for my daily makeup routine. This luminizer is subtle, not all shimmery and sparkly like some. I look instantly refreshed when I dab it on my eyelids and brow bones. The sample is huge.5
I like this product because when you put it on its subtle and you can layer it on to add a little more shine and highlight. It doesn't leave you looking like a disco ball and it doesn't leave an oily residue.I've been meaning to try this for a long time and I finally got it!5
This is perfect for older skin. No sparkles and just makes my skin look healthy and dewy.5
I loves almost everything about this product -the color, shimmer (not too glittery), application, texture, etc. I thought I had found the PERFECT highlighter/luminizer. Sadly, after about a month of using the product, it started making me break out.3
