The reason this highlighter is so amazing at bringing out our good features, we think, is that it has so many good features of its own. It gives skin a sheer, glowing look without excessive shine or sparkle, and is made with all organic, pure ingredients—like coconut oil and rosemary extract—meaning it's good for your skin too. The slight iridescence of its light-reflecting minerals (no disco ball effect) works to subtly reflect the light and make you look fresh-faced.
I really wanted to love this product and was so excited to try it given the reviews. But I was disappointed once I got it in the mail and had a chance to play with it. Granted, I may just need to fine tune my application and technique with this, but I think its very shiny. It is not shiny like shimmer or sparkle like some of the highlighters out there. But it made me feel like I was extremely oily looking with a sheer glisten to add. I may have applied too much and maybe in the wrong places, but I do think you need to practice and figure out what works for you.3
This product is the best highlighter I have found-- EVER. A little goes a LONG way, and I love that it's made with all organic ingredients. Your skin looks dewy and radiant after using even the smallest amount.5
My busy schedule often leaves me looking haggard, but dabbing this on my cheekbones and the corners and lids of my eyes instantly made my skin look like that of a care-free 10 year old. The price is steep but totally worth it; the product has a sort of tacky consistency meaning a tiny bit goes a long way, so a jar of this will last a very long time.5
When I read that this is the product used on J.Crew models (that's why they have that incredible glow) I was eager to try it, and Birchbox is the only place I could find it! What a great find! It gives my skin a natural glow without looking overdone. I apply it on my cheekbones, above my top lip and under my eyebrows. The product size is small, but you need so little to achieve results that I'm sure it will last for a long time.5
If you are looking for a product that gives you a nice natural glow this is your product. It is very pretty and not glittery. It leaves a dewy finish.5
I really disliked this product. I tried using it twice and both times I ended up washing my face due to the way it felt on my skin.
The product feels gunky and greasy. I was really surprised due to the reviews I read.
I am obsessed with makeup-especially highlighters/luminizers and have about every possible one out there. I never thought this would live up to all the hype, but it totally does. I understand why J.Crew models use this...it's amazing. There is no glitter at all, and does not leave a yellow or ashy tint like some highlighters/luminizer do. It looks like you are lit from within and are glowing. It makes you look like you are refreshed and have healthy skin, right out of the spa. I am immediately buying another one strictly for my purse. I use this on my cheekbones, bridge of nose, brow bone, inner corner of eyes, cupids bow, chin, and a little on my forehead. Do yourself a favor and buy the only highligher/luminizer you will ever need.5
I had been reading about rms beauty in magazines and on blogs and decided I had to see what all the fuss was about, and this product has earned its great reputation! Where some other highlighting products seem to sit on top of your skin or are too sparkly, this has a very dewy, natural finish. You notice the subtle glow more than the shimmer. The texture is also really nice and easy to apply. Even when I don't put on much makeup, I wear this on my cheekbones, brow bones and in the inner corners of my eyes to brighten/refresh. It's also a nice compact size that's easy to throw in a makeup bag.5
I, like the rest of the lady-net, read this was often used in J. Crew photo-shoots to give the models a natural glow and stampeded off to get my hands on some. It definitely lived up to the hype for me. The finish is dewy, but not greasy. The undertone is neutral, so it doesn't have that weird yellow or pink cast that some highlights can give. You do have to be careful not to get it into the crease of your eye or the cream formula will sink in. I like to use it under my brow and just along my lash line, starting from the outer corner and working inward. I dab whatever is left on my finger (that's right - finger - I know the video recommends a brush, but meh. Call me a nature girl or whatever, I like using my finger to blend.) on the tops of my cheekbones. For dates, I'll put it on my cupid's bow too. It's not like being photoshopped, but I look like me with an extra hour of sleep.5
You will not regret it. I truly believe my face looks different the days I use this luminizer - which honestly should be every day! Light and sheer, it goes on smoothly and creates a natural glow without that glittery sparkle that you can get from other similar products. Come to think of it...I should probably carry it around with me wherever I go...Love it!5
