When it comes to shine, there’s a thin line between a dewy, radiant complexion and looking like you moonlight as an auto-mechanic. To stay on this side of an oil spill, we rely on Youngblood’s Anti-Shine Mattifier. The balm-like formula keeps oil in check all day long while upping your makeup’s staying power. The translucent hue seamlessly blends in with all skin tones and leaves behind a satiny finish.
The feel of the product on your skin is nice but the mattifying qualities didn't last long. Would try again if the samples in my birchbox were a little larger but I have tried better products with the same purpose.3
I've been using this on my t-zone instead of primer or powder and it appears to do a good job of controlling shine. I especially like the fact it comes in a disc rather than tube.4
Was not happy with the outcome of this product. It caused my face to break out after a week of using it. It is not an anti shine product.1
I was very hopeful when I bought this mattifier, but it just did not impress me. I have pretty oily skin and I am constantly dabbing my face. When I used this some days I felt like my face was even more oily than normal. The key is to put a tiny amount on, I did learn that lesson the hard way. The satiny finish just felt like my skin had layers of makeup and my foundation didn't feel like it stayed on throughout the day. May work for others, just not me....1
This stuff is really great. Lasts forever! and it still gives you a nice glow! Would purchase again. Yay for Anti-shine!5
To be honest, I didn't notice a difference from wearing this to not wearing this. It didn't make an impact so I do not recommend.2
I'm kind of indifferent about this one. I have naturally oily skin - I'm a 6-times-a-day-or-more blotter - so I had really high hopes for this product.
The key on this one is to use a REALLY thin layer. Too much and it'll just slide off your skin, especially oily skin, and take all your makeup with it. It's a little hard to get a good, even, thin layer with the sponge, though I didn't have any better luck with my fingers. I think I'd like to see this product in a serum form, rather than as a puck.
The sponge also starts feeling gritty REALLY quickly. I recommend washing it with soap after every use, or just dig out some product with the back of your fingernail and apply with your fingertips instead.
Loved this during the summer months to take the edge off the shine during the day without applying more layers of makeup, but know this will prove makeup clutch worthy for the holiday season since it really helps with staying power too.5
I have tried and tried many mattifiers in my time. One is similar in nature to this one, and sadly, I was just disappointed. I was still shiny - this had a great feel, though. GREAT for wearing alone, but I feel I could still touch up with a powder to cover up some shine. As a primer, it would be good, just not for de-slicking. My friend got this and loved it, so I tried on a whim. I've got my tried and true and I've found nothing that can compare. I just liked the ease of application and transport of the compact.2
Before applying makeup, I blot this in my t-zone. This really made a difference in my beauty routine. I don't have to worry about oily skin and blot papers. Love how sheer thie product is.5
