When it comes to shine, there’s a thin line between a dewy, radiant complexion and looking like you moonlight as an auto-mechanic. To stay on this side of an oil spill, we rely on Youngblood’s Anti-Shine Mattifier. The balm-like formula keeps oil in check all day long while upping your makeup’s staying power. The translucent hue seamlessly blends in with all skin tones and leaves behind a satiny finish.
I've never really thought of assign a product like this since I usually just use blotting papers but sometimes those dry me out too much. I really like to use this product after blotting papers because it brings the dew back to my face without making it look oily.4
The balmy texture made application a bit more difficult to apply on my skin. My face did not feel different with it on and I was a bit disappointed with its effectiveness.2
This product does the opposite of what it is intended for. My face was more oily than "anti-shine". I do not recommend this product if you want to control oil on your face.2
This product works really well. It mattifies my skin really nicely but after a few hours it wears off. It can also feel heavy at times. It's a great item to keep in your purse for those extra dewey days, but i would not recommend it for daily use.3
This is really awesome. At first, it seemed odd to be rubbing on a balm to keep my face from being oily, but it is truly the first effective mattifier I've ever used. I live in a tropical climate and it kept me matte all day long, even when I was spending most of my time outside. Plus it smells vaguely of rice, which is pleasant and not overpowering. Definitely recommend for very oily gals.5
I tried this for several days hoping it would help under my makeup, but it actually felt kind of greasy to me, and didn't really help the shine factor. Disappointed.2
I am a dolphin rescuer who specializes on the Gulf coast. Since BP-gate, I have been especially busy. Actually, the description of staying "this side of an oil spill" is incredibly offensive to me, but que sera sera.
Anyway, so due to my adventures in the Gulf, I get terribly oily skill. This anti-shine mattifier does nothing to solve that issue. Thus, I cannot recommend.
I like the smell of this product...the rest of it is just okay. It does instantly mattify my face when I put it on, but it makes putting makeup over it a little chalky. I also didn't notice a significant difference later in the day from when I didn't use the product - still shiny a couple hours later. Also the size of this product is not as large as I thought it would be for the price.3
I have an oily t zone. This stuff really worked well. I put it on under my makeup. Throughout the day I did have to use blotting papers but I don't think that's the products lack to mattify just that I have a really oily t zone.4
Not really sure if this goes under your makeup or over, I liked it but i'm confused on how to use it effectively.3
