I received a sample of this product in one of my Birchboxes and while I'm usually skeptical about putting any new product on my face, I decided to give this one a go. I have very sensitive skin and suffer from occasional acne breakouts. Most of the time I'd say my face is more oily than dry, but I recently started using a retinol serum prescribed by my derm, which occasionally causes me to have patches of dry, flaky skin - small price to pay for clear skin, but still unpleasant looking. So, I started using this product sporadically whenever one of said dry patches occurred. Thankfully, it didn't irritate my skin or cause any breakouts and it brought my dry and dull skin back to life after only a couple uses. A little goes a long way too - my sample bottle lasted for months.
Well, a couple weeks ago I stupidly tried some exfoliating cleansing type product (that I got from somewhere else - not Birchbox) and it burned my face. Not only was my face bright red for a full 24 hours after use, but my face was so dry and chapped that my face continued to hurt long after the redness subsided. Frustrated, in pain and afraid to put anything on my face for fear that I'd only make things worse, I got out my Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Liquid sample bottle only to realize my little miracle in a bottle was just about empty. Figures, I somehow made that small bottle last for months, only to run out when I've burned my darn face. LOL.
So, I decided to order the full bottle and couldn't be more pleased that I did. My red face sitch has come and gone and now I'm using it consistently rather than sporadically. I use it twice a day - in the morning before my tinted moisturizer and at night after I wash my face. My skin just feels much better when I use this product and looks better too. Point of my story.... product effectively moisturizes skin without causing breakouts or any irritation to very sensitive, acne-prone skin. Helps to relieve that uncomfortable feeling associated with really dry skin.
