We’ve always had a thing for the land down under: the surf, the sun, the all-you-can-eat shrimp on the barbie. Not to mention the sophisticated style of famous exports Nic and Naomi, who always look chic without trying too hard. Fortunately, we can get a little taste of Oz stateside with these new-to-the-U.S. lipstick pencils from hip Aussie brand Mirenesse. The bold, glossy hues are a no-fail way to add polish to any ensemble, and the long-lasting formula stays high-impact for hours. Bonus: Each pencil doubles as a dreamy cheek stain.
I had never heard of the brand Mirenesse before, but I definitely plan to remember it, if for nothing other than this particular lip gloss stick! I loved that this gloss is more an oil type rather than a sticky coating that seems to float on your lips like a lot of glosses. This actually applies like a lipstick, but feels moisturizing and shiny like a gloss. In my opinion it is a great combination of both desired aspects of lipstick and lip gloss! LOVE!5
I got this in my Birchbox years ago and loved it. I got so many compliments on the color and the sample lasted forever. Unfortunately, the thin and flimsy plastic cap broke and I had to use an old lipstick’s cap to replace it. I loved this gloss so much that I ordered the full-size but within days, the cap broke on that too. The full-size is more of a unique size and I couldn’t find any replacement caps. I’ve now been trying to salvage it but putting anything I can find that will act as a cap on this gloss so that I can use it, but in the process have just gotten the color all over the inside of my bags. I’m throwing this away even though 99% of the stick is still left. I’m so disappointed and this was a complete waste of money. They need to revisit the packaging of this product.1
I love everything about this lipstick. Smooth formula, moisturizing, and a gorgeous, flattering color. I get compliments every time I wear it!5
I thought this lipstick was great! I call it lipstick because that's what it felt like, not sticky like typical gloss. I am very disapointed that I can't get more in the color I sampled, 04, angel kiss. Please get more! Until then, I'll be hoping for another sample in one of my boxes.5
This lip product was pretty good and stayed on for a decent amount of time. The color was nice and good for the work day.4
I am new to makeup and generally dislike lipstick, because it is too bright and leaves residue. This goes on smoothly and the color is neutral enough to feel/look natural.4
I sampled this & loved it. It's creamy & long lasting. However, I remembered it being more pinkish & flattering. Recently I ordered it & it's a very bright orange, which doesn't compliment :(3
I bought this when they had more colors in stock - and I hope they will again soon. I just hopped on to order more and they're down to one shade!!! This stuff is super creamy and feels great on chronically dry lips, doesn't settle on dry skin and is so pretty! Hardly a gloss so much as a subtle sheen so your hair won't get stuck in goopy lip mess. And bonus - doesn't dry out when you forget that you have it because you own far too many lippies. Definitely worth it.5
I have bought many Mirenesse Glossy Kiss colors over the years when traveling. This Australian brand is finally available stateside - which is great. Birchbox sent me 2 Flirty Kiss a while back in my monthly subscription box - it a great blue red. Choosing a color can be a challenge - the swatches are often not helpful to understand the color, i.e., 13 Wet Kiss is a gold nude brown and 14 Perfect Kiss is a pinkish deep rose but they are sequentially one number apart. The Glossy Kiss colors are all bright, high pigment, and long lasting.4
Went on very creamy and stayed on a long time. Not at all sticky5
