The world of skincare is a battlefield, what with all the product strategy involved and dodging of potential beauty minefields. That’s why when we find something we love, like this longtime favorite, we stick with it. Originally created for professionals, philosophy®’s hope in a jar™ has been a best-seller for years. With a soufflé-like texture, it melts into your skin to leave your face feeling refreshed and supple.
I absolutely love this product! It is so velvety and smooth, and it makes my face feel so soft. I have noticed that it has improved my complexion. It is not too oily, which is a plus for me, because some moisturizers make my face feel super oily.5
I hated this. I had such high hopes because it's been around a long time. It wasn't very moisturizing and it made the skin around my eyes burn. Maybe I am just beyond hope...1
I have been using this product for several years. I prefer the moisturizer with SPF, but this one is so light.5
I love the philosophy line and have used a lot of their other products. I think this moisturizer overall works well, but I didn't care for the texture or the smell. It's kind of watery. I wouldn't buy again.3
An okay face cream, but not the best. I've definitely had better luck with other products and this one doesn't have the best smell.3
I tried to like this moisturizer, but I just couldn't get past the smell. I honestly can't speak to how well it works; pretty soon after I applied it I was compelled to wash my face because I didn't want to leave the house smelling like that.2
I love the hope in a jar. My skin feels soft and smooth but not greasy. I use it in concert with the facial cleanser and I love the way my skin feels. I love the entire Philosophy line!5
I like the idea of this, but something just doesn't cut it. My boyfriend hates the smell (I don't mind), but also the texture seems a little "off" -- it's a strange combination of slick and sticky and doesn't seem to work well for my super dry skin. I love the idea of this, but it just isn't right for me.3
This stuff smells so bad that it doesn't even matter how well it works. I used it a couple times and a few times I couldn't stand my face smelling so bad (it's a weird dank chemically cardboardy smell) that I washed it off. As far as how well it works, I got it because it's so highly rated, but my skin always ended up either dry (winter) or oily (summer) so it didn't seem to help either way.2
After having a parent/teacher conference with a grandmother who was well over 60, I commented on how young she looked. She quickly gave the credit to Hope In a Jar. A few months later, she gave me some for Christmas. What a gift!!! This product is effective, feels light, smells fresh. It makes me so happy to use it. It should be called JOY in a JAR!5
