We can't help it when our friends flake out from time to time, but we can prevent our skin from doing the same. Enter shea butter, aka the original beauty balm. Used by women in West Africa for centuries, the miracle hydrator protects, softens, and moisturizes dry and sensitive skin. Even better, L'OCCITANE works with women cooperatives in Burkina Faso to produce its ultrarich, certified organic formula.
This was recommended to me to help heal my incision when I had foot surgery. I ended up layering it with a drop of frankincense essential oil, and I SWEAR that's the reason the incision that's as long as my foot is invisible!5
This is probably the best lotion I have ever used! It lasts all day and actually keeps me feeling moisturized!5
This product is just pure shea butter, meaning L'Occitane didn't do anything special to it. It's not L'Occitane's product, it's just a pure ingredient. Pure shea butter can be bought in lots of places in the exact amount you want for much less money! However, I do see the benefit in the packaging of this. I will admit it was easier to use and store than a plain bar of shea butter. It is nice that it has a screw-on cap.2
This comes in a large 5.2 oz. metal container which the lid screws on. Remove the protective tissue and use. Give it a couple seconds for your body temperature to glide the butter. There is no fragrance, but pure shea butter. Goes on non-greasy and makes your dry skin feel alive again. Definitely a must buy for those with dry areas.5
I received this from a student as a gift...there is a reason it is a cult favorite. Smells lush, not greasy, and feels lux. Happy days.5
I bought this after reading that pure shea butter helps prevent stretch marks on the belly and breasts during pregnancy. Not only has it worked so far (I'm at the midway point of my pregnancy), but it's super moisturizing. I have been using it on my hands too, and living in Minnesota during the winter months, my hands can use it!
It's non-greasy, and very thick-- and rubs on clean. Just a slight waxy feeling until the product soaks in (it doesn't take long). I like that it is unscented so I can still use my regular scented body lotion and perfume without overwhelming the senses.
