The world of skincare is a battlefield, what with all the product strategy involved and dodging of potential beauty minefields. That’s why when we find something we love, like this longtime favorite, we stick with it. Originally created for professionals, philosophy®’s hope in a jar™ has been a best-seller for years. With a soufflé-like texture, it melts into your skin to leave your face feeling refreshed and supple.
Time and time again, I come back to this jar. I love it's light weight, non greasy feel, and it's lovely smell. It absorbs beautifully, quickly, and leaves my skin very smooth. An absolute keeper.
I have combination skin and I really love this product. I only need to put it on once after washing me face and I am good all day.4
I swear by this product. I use it daily to prevent/treat aging skin. It smells great, works effectively, and is worth every penny.5
I love this moisturizer! It has a really nice, light herbal smell and a smooth, whipped texture that absorbs quickly without feeling heavy. It's my go to moisturizer when my skin is feeling extra dry or just needs to chill out (from trying so many different products!)4
I have used this for years and years. I'm 40 and come from a sun worshipping family who, as a result, is usually plagued by early wrinkles. Not me. I sincerely believe it's because of my faithful use of Hope in a Jar. A 2 oz. jar can easily last me 3 to 4 months. I'm not sure why some are running out so fast. I also find that it evens my skin tone. It is by far my favorite skin product and the few times over the last five or six years that I HAVEN'T used it, I notice right away.5
I really wanted to love this product, but it was just "good". I was also disappointed in the packaging. It looks very premium and glass online, but is actually plastic. As such, it cracked all around the top!3
I am a big fan of Philosophy products when I can afford them. This is a great moisturizer because it does a small amount of exfoliating as well. I use other moisturizers just because of price but when I get jars for Christmas I am always glad Santa brought me some!4
Someone told me that this is a good primer to use under foundation. She told me to let it get "sticky" after applying it and then to apply my foundation with a foundation brush. OMG, I loved the results and use it everyday like this. My foundation doesn't "slide" off in the Texas heat and humidity like it can with some slick foundation primers. I use it every morning first as a moisturizer, then reapply before putting on my foundation. It's expensive, but considering I don't have to purchase primer anymore, it's worth it to me.4
I wanted to love this product, because I had heard such good things about it and have always loved Philosophy products. This lotion smells nice, smooths over the face well, and isn't too oily or greasy. My only problem is that it doesn't last very long - the 4 oz jar only lasted 6 weeks or so. I'd be okay with paying the higher price if it lasted a little longer, but it just isn't worth it to me.3
This stuff keeps me going through the dreaded dryness of the east coast winter, protecting my face from the killing dryness. I'm not very loyal; I use a lot of moisturizers, but this one's an excellent fall-back moisturizer. I go back to it time and time again.4
