Can't decide between two nail polish hues? The pros at Ruby Wing have come up with a solution to the ultimate polish conundrum: color-changing polish. Wear one vibrant shade indoors, and embrace a totally different color when the sun's UV rays hit your nails, thanks to the brand's SolarActive® Technology. Each Ruby Wing polish is non-toxic, vegan, and environmentally safe—plus has a light floral scent
I like the concept of color-changing polish. I received the hot pink/magenta and would only wear it on the weekends. It is not appropriate in a professional setting.2
It's glitter nail polish. I've gotten better and nicer ones at Ulta. And it feels rough. Its not a smooth finish unlike my other glitter polish. Plus it didn't change colors for me outside. Maybe I got a dud bottle, who knows! I wouldn't waste my money on this.2
I was really excited to try this product and see the color change from gold to red in the sun light. I tried the polish on top of the color I already had on my nails and never saw the actual color change. This could be because it was on top of a different color, I wouldn't know. However, even if the color doesn't change I really liked the gold sparkles for a slight change to my regular look.2
I really loved the idea of a color changing polish when I saw they ride 'em cowgirl on the preview February box video, but when I got the Kitten Heels color I was a bit disappointed. The color really wasn't for me, its a bit too loud.2
I love the gold but didn't like the color it changed to in the sun. I put on 2 coats per the instruction but I found it extremely difficult to take off. Not super professional so I had to take it off for Monday morning when I went to work but I couldn't get all the glitter off. I ended up having to scratch the remaining glitter off.2
Fun idea, dried quickly, didn't last as long as I'd like. Not too big into glitter polish but the color change concept was a fun idea.2
The pink is so so so so pink... hello kitty on acid pink. The nail polish does change color in the sun, but the change is so subtle it takes away from the cool factor... if you are going to make a color changing nail polish, why would you make the colors so close together? The in the sun color is a bright coral. The polish seemed like okay quality.2
I received the Kitten Heels color in my box. The bright pink color is really fun, but it never did change to red outside like it claimed. Possibly a slightly darker shade of pink on day 1, but not even a slight change after that. Also, it chips so quickly, it's just not worth it.2
I sampled the kitten heel color, and even though I would have been more excited about a different color, I was still interested to see how it worked. I live in a very sunny climate, so even though it is winter I had no trouble finding sunlight to try it out. It just never changed at all for me. I even tried covering one hand so I could compare, and nothing. I used 2 coats for the first test and added another one later.
That said, I do like the pink color and it has stayed on nicely for 3 days even without a top coat.
While this product is very fun, I do not think I will purchase. Glitter nail polish is often hard to get on evenly and I found that to be a struggle with this. I will most likely continue to use the sample, but not sure I would purchase on my own.2
