Can't decide between two nail polish hues? The pros at Ruby Wing have come up with a solution to the ultimate polish conundrum: color-changing polish. Wear one vibrant shade indoors, and embrace a totally different color when the sun's UV rays hit your nails, thanks to the brand's SolarActive® Technology. Each Ruby Wing polish is non-toxic, vegan, and environmentally safe—plus has a light floral scent
The polish was a cool effect. I recieved it in my April box which was perfect, just in time to wear outside. I sampled the Peony color. It just wasnt my shade. When you put the polish on it took on a funky matte look that made it look cheap so def use a topcoat.3
a little difficult to paint on but i love the color4
First the pros: I love the bright peony pink color and the dark burgundy/purple color it turns in the sun! It worked quickly and they looked beautiful right after I painted them.
Cons: This polish is matte. It doesn't tell you, but you need a top coat to achieve a glossy look. It also chipped off the next day even though I used a top coat I regularly use. I'm not sure what made it chip so quickly as all I did was shower like normal and dry my hair and noticed they were nearly unwearable.
I may try it one more time, but I won't be buying a bottle.
I absolutely loved this nail polish! The Peony color (indoor) is awesome for the spring and summer - it is actually more of a neon coral. You do need a few coats, but once you've applied two or three is looks amazing!5
I thought this was a cool product. I wasn't really feeling the color for my nails because it was a little to bright. I used it on my toes instead and it was a nice spring pick me up although the paint went on a little thin. I let me niece (6 yrs) use it as well and she loved it.3
Great color for vacation! Truly changes color in the sun and didn't chip once even when I was in the sand.5
I liked the polish, it was a pretty color, easy to apply, didn't need a zillion coats to look good. I didn't know whether or not I could put clear coat top coat on the polish though because I wasn't sure if it would hinder the color changing properties. I wish it would have said somewhere if I could do that or not. Also, I did not notice a significant change in color from low-light to sunlight. I loved the colors though, very pretty polish, I just would not buy it for this reason.2
I love the concept but the quality is lacking. The polish didn't go on smooth and took many coats to get acceptable coverage. The sun effect is fun so I will use it for my toes but probably not on my fingernails.4
I wasn't that into this nail polish. Maybe its because I am a gel polish kind of gal, but I thought it was just ok.3
I was so disappointed I didn't get this in my birch box...so I bought one myself. I got the groupie color, and although pretty different than shown online - I really like the color. Indoors it is a pretty bright (almost) neon pink and outdoors in turns into a darker raspberry color. I'm not sure why so many people had issues applying, I thought it applied very easily/well. It might be in my head but it seems like the color changing works better in my toes (maybe because I didn't use a base coat in my toes)5
