I received a sample of Poppy, a bright neon pink that changes to a raisin purple in the sun. Knowing that this was a neon, I did prep my nails with two coats of a thick, ridge filler base coat. I can see the application being a pain without proper setup - but that's common to all neons. I think I only had to do two coats. If I hadn't used a more opaque base coat, Poppy probably would have required more. The polish had the usual satin-y finish when dry - again, neons do that, so I was expecting to top it with something shiny. Worth noting that Poppy had a bit of a scent, but I couldn't smell it with the top coat. Wear was quite good. I think I managed 5 days, which is almost unheard of for me.
