Can't decide between two nail polish hues? The pros at Ruby Wing have come up with a solution to the ultimate polish conundrum: color-changing polish. Wear one vibrant shade indoors, and embrace a totally different color when the sun's UV rays hit your nails, thanks to the brand's SolarActive® Technology. Each Ruby Wing polish is non-toxic, vegan, and environmentally safe—plus has a light floral scent
I like the color, but mine didn't change at all when exposed outdoors. It also chips very easily, so you need a topcoat if you want it to last more than 2 hours. It's also very thin,2
I didn't get these in my box ::sob::, so ordered them from Birchbox. I purchased Crowd Surf and Poppy. Currently wearing Crowd Surf (purple hues) and am amused with the color change. It changes depending on the light you expose it to, not necessarily from indoors to outdoors, which is fine. I'm definitely considering buying other shades :)4
I had the pink shade in my sample box, I loved the color and it lasted longer when I put a top coat on however I think that made the color shifting not work. it was okay, but I work with my hands and it chipped a little too easy for me to justify the price... pretty color though!3
When I received this in my birchbox this month I was very excited to try it out. Living in a always sunny area I thought this was genius. I received the Peony. The first application went on ok, it was a little streaky but seemed to even out as it dried. The color was faint and made my nails look discolored so I applied another coat and it went on horribly. It was streaky, had ridges, no matter how much I applied I could not get any nail to look correct :(2
I was so excited to receive this in my box this month! I love doing funky things with my nails and I haven't even heard of color changing nail polish before. I got the peony one which is really a bright neon orange. It was incredibly thin nail polish and see through, it literally took 7 coats to get MOST of the streaks out but could still see my nail underneath in some places. As far as the color changing aspect I must have received a dud or something because it doesn't change even a little bit in the sun.2
I was skeptical about this nail polish at first. I thought it would either not work, or look very little-kid-ish because of the bright color and changing effect. However, I have never gotten so many compliments on a nail color! Then, when I tell people it changes in the sun they are even more amazed. I would definitely recommend this to a friend.5
The color of the polish is great. But it went on my nails horribly! I had to put on four coats of this just to hide all the streaks.3
I got this nail polish in Poppy, and it's a much hotter pink than in the pictures you see here.I had my doubts at first but I love it,and everyone who's seen my nails love it,and that's before I even tell them it changes color!Use a good top coat with this one,it goes a long way!5
Beautiful vibrant hot pink color one minute, step outside, then instantly turns into a rich saturated berry color. Something fun and different!!5
I really really like this nail polish - for the base color, that part of it is great, but I don't really care to pay more for the color-changing-ness of it. I don't really need that, so I'll stick to my regular polish from now on.
