Can't decide between two nail polish hues? The pros at Ruby Wing have come up with a solution to the ultimate polish conundrum: color-changing polish. Wear one vibrant shade indoors, and embrace a totally different color when the sun's UV rays hit your nails, thanks to the brand's SolarActive® Technology. Each Ruby Wing polish is non-toxic, vegan, and environmentally safe—plus has a light floral scent
This was the first color-changing nail polish that I've ever tried, and that aspect of it was so cool! Both the indoor and outdoor shades are beautiful. The consistency of the polish itself left something to be desired, as it was a bit streaky and difficult to apply evenly, but the colors themselves were great.4
I got the sample color in poppy I was real skeptical about this nail polish because I have another brand that is suppose to do the same and it chipped the same day and it took a while for the polish to change color outdoors..but this on I have to say I love, I put it on immediately and I have had it on for 4 days now and it has not chipped some of my expensive brands chip faster.. this is the longest I have had a nail polish on because I have real oily nails so the nail polish tends to come off easily on me..this is a REPURCHASE for me!!!5
This color was beautiful and it dried very fast, but the polish was very thick and difficult to apply without getting bald patches and streaks. The color change was not very strong, either.3
This is a cute summer time novelty - mine was the light pink to red shade, and it was VERY bright when I put it on. Probably too bold to wear to work, so I'll limit this to a toenail polish option. A little thick to apply, but that's nothing a nice top coat can't help disguise. Would make a cute gift idea for a polish-loving lady!4
I thought this was such a great idea to have color changing nail polish. It's like getting 2 for 1. My friends and family were just as impressed as I was ;) A couple of things I didn't like... 1) The polish didn't go on as smooth as I had hoped. It was streaky and my daughter thought it had a weird texture. 1) I did not like the bright coral color on my finger nails, but I am excited to give it a try on my toe nails. I LOVED the color once I was in the sunshine (which unfortunately took a few days for us to get any)
That being said, I do like the product and plan to purchase a different color.
I was so excited when my box came this month to try out my new color changing polish. I have my nails professionally done so I was putting it on my toes which were recently manicured and when I put the polish on it went on streaky. The color was beautiful but it never changed colors for me.1
After shaking the bottle, as I always do with nail polish to be sure it is mixed well, I tried applying it to my nails. The good news is it dries quickly. The bad news is it did not apply evenly for me. As another reviewer stated - it went on streaked. The color was too bright a pink for me. When I went out into the sun, I waited to see it change color. After three days of wearing this polish, I'm still waiting. It has never changed color. It smelled just like regular nail polish to me. It chips easily, and is just not for me. I really had hoped to at least see the color change.1
This nailpolish is incredible! Love when I step outside and the colour changes. Will definitely purchase other colour options available.
Mine was a little thick as well and after reading one of the reviews here, I added a little seche vite thinner and the consistency improved greatly.... and it didn't impact the colour change!
I like the concept and it was fun to try it out, but it took more than 1 coat/application to get full color on the nail. I'd rather do 1 coat and be done, but that's just a personal preference. The concept of color-changing nail polish is pretty innovative though.3
I really liked the "indoor" color (I got peony), it's a bright peachy pink. The texture of the nail polish is kind of chalky, so the base coat is definitely necessary, and I'd suggest a top coat too. Unfortunately, my nails barely changed in the sun. I'm not sure if I needed a specific base/top coat, but I'm going to keep trying - I like the peachy color anyway :)3
