It takes more than a pair of tweezers to keep your arches looking polished—you also need a stellar eyebrow pencil. ybf’s Automatic Universal Taupe Pencil matches every hair color, from blondes to brunettes and everything in between. Plus the twist up design means you never have to worry about sharpening. Best of all, it also comes with a handy brow brush to add texture and make brows look natural.
I was sooo hoping for this to be a great product. But it is not a one color fits all. I dont like my brows to look dark and no matter how i applied this they were too dark for my look. Also the color did not stay put. I had to be cautious of it smearing or smudging.1
I bought this product because Cynthia Rowley said it was great and BB had a great tutorial on it. I regret that choice. The pencil was waxy and not a great shade. The mechanisim that brings it up, doesn't like to bring it back down...not so great. Basically, the first week I used it the lead popped up into the lid and the whole thing stuck to the top and pulled out and that = no more product. boo :(
The comb on the other end is great and works like a champ, but that is a lot to pay for a brow comb. Not impressed.
As a natural dirty blonde, this 'universal taupe' color gave me eyebrows that made me look like Charlie Chaplin. I didn't need to worry about sharpening this product because it kept breaking off in chunks making it difficult to apply. Even with the 'handy brow brush to add texture', my brows looked anything but natural.1
I don't use eyebrow pencil as part of my daily makeup routine, so this was not an applicable product for me. I have nothing against it, and I gave it to my mom since her eyebrows have thinned quite a bit from thyroid disorder.1
First time I used this the pencil went flying out of the "plastic pen" it was contained in. Birchbox was kind enough to replace it... I like the pencil plenty but the product containment is a bit of an issue.2
It broke the 3rd time i used it....i liked it before that and i wish i could return it for a new one2
I read the reviews and did not press down hard, but I ended up looking pretty crazy. Definitely a little too bold for me, since I generally go for a natural look. The brush is awesome though.2
Overall I like this quite a bit. I have black hair and my eyebrows are quite sparse, so it's hard to find a brow product that doesn't overwhelm them. It's a great color for me, not too dark or ashy, but I have to say I'm majorly disappointed by how much actual product is in this pen - it's maybe 1 inch of actual brow pencil and that's being generous. If this was a traditional pencil and not a twist up, they wouldn't be able to get away with that. I like this, but definitely would not pay $12 for it again unless they started selling it in a traditional pencil form where I could actually see how much product there is.2
By noon the pencil wore off so my brows were back to looking patchy. Also, I have light brown/very dark blonde hair and the pencil was a bit too dark. I do not agree tha this matches every hair color.2
I have naturally blonde, pale eyebrows which I like to fill in now that I have red hair. This pencil claimed to be universal, it is not. It makes me look like Groucho Marx. The colour is way too dark, even if I press very lightly with it.2
