These are not the bobby pins of your grade school years. (Unless you came of age in a parallel universe with much better hair accessories, in which case we want to hear all about it.) Jane Tran’s eye-catching bobby pins, in bright patterns and colors, are made to stand out. Slightly wider and sturdier than the typical hairpin, they’ll keep your hair in place all day.
I love these bobby pins. they are so cute. they are great to just clip up some hair and add some style to my up-do's.4
usually regular hair pins slip right out of my hair. I started using the spiral hairpins to hold my hair up. So, when i got these in my birchbox back in june, i kinda set them off to the side, figuring they wouldn't work out either.
Fast forward to two weeks ago. I needed something to hold my hair off my face while i working on something in the house. I figured i'd have to stop and push my hair back up a little later, but it would give me time to get things where i needed them before i'd have to catch my hair.
A few hours later, my still held. I was quite surprised. I guess the wider width of the hairpin helped to hold my hair in place. I was pleasantly surprised, and i would order more, if they weren't so expensive.
The price breaks down to $1.50 each hairpin. As a poor college student, the price isn't feasible. I wish i had a coupon or something for them, so i could buy more.
I like the chrysanthemum print design. This is more of my style then the birchbox box bobby pins that were sent as a sample. I have very thick curly hair and they are strong enough to keep my hair in place. I do wish the different colors were sold separately because I like the pink, blue and black colors but not the orange, tan and green.4
I love these bobby pins. They are really pretty and are super strong. I have lots of hair and normally require a hair tie and a clip and bobby pins to keep my hair in a bun. Since I got these pins, all I use is ONE pin. One pin to hold up all of my hair! Crazy strong! Sometimes they're a little hard to use because of that reason. Specially when you need to take them out, it can be hard and you may lose a few strands of hair due to it. But these are really cool. And did I mention how pretty they are?!5
Since I keep my hair in a short bob, I always wear bobby pins to keep my hair out of my eyes. I love the prints on these and the sturdiness. I can pop one in and forget about it all day, unless I look in the mirror and see how cute it is!5
Love this product! So adorable and functional. I would buy them in all different colors and styles! A must have!4
I have very long hair (at least 6-8 inches past my shoulders) and in the past it has taken no less than ten bobby pins (I usually used Goody brand) to style my hair in any kind of up-do. I used one of the Jane Tran pins to fasten a fly-away from my braid and it easily did the trick. Once I got home I decided to use the rest of the pack to fasten my braid into a bun for the gym. I was skeptical of how firmly the pins would be able to hold my long braid in a bun while running on the treadmill (normally it would take 15+ pins to fasten my hair in a bun for a workout). I was so pleasantly surprised to find that my hair stayed perfectly in place - with only 8 pins! Wow! The only complaint is that, since my hair is very fine, the pins tended to grab onto individual strands as I took them out. So my advice is to DEFINITELY purchase these pins, just make sure you spread them apart as you take them out to avoid ripping your hair out.4
These bobby pins hold really well, but I'm not a fan of the print. I wish they were more camouflaged to the natural hair color. Or even just natural colors rather than brights.3
I saw these bobby pins in the Head of the Class limited edition box and it was the reason I purchased the box. I love decorative hair pins and these are adorable! They hold up nicely in the hair and don't move. There's a nice range of color also. I wish they were a wee bit bigger but other than that I am very satisfied!5
But not for everyday use...these are cute and strong. I have a headful thick hair, and these really hold, which I don't get with a regular bobby pin...however, that being said, I couldn't wear them everyday because when you try and get them out....OUCH, you will be missing a clump of hair!4
