These are not the bobby pins of your grade school years. (Unless you came of age in a parallel universe with much better hair accessories, in which case we want to hear all about it.) Jane Tran’s eye-catching bobby pins, in bright patterns and colors, are made to stand out. Slightly wider and sturdier than the typical hairpin, they’ll keep your hair in place all day.
But not for everyday use...these are cute and strong. I have a headful thick hair, and these really hold, which I don't get with a regular bobby pin...however, that being said, I couldn't wear them everyday because when you try and get them out....OUCH, you will be missing a clump of hair!4
I have very thick curly hair, so usually bobby pins get lost in my hair. I was excited to try these, as I love trying new things, and they held in place all day! Of course nothing good lasts forever and I found that trying to take them out ended in pain and a clump of hair coming out of my scalp. These are nice if you have a hairdo that requires the superglue of bobby pins, but everyday use will leave you bald!3
My hair is very fine, so normally any bobby pins/hair clips like to slowly slide out throughout the day. These don't do that. They are very sturdy and hold my hair right where it needs to be. Love the designs on them too.4
They are cute, but they really hurt trying to get them out of your hair. My hair is really fine, so it gets stuck in the bobby pin when I pull it out...I think I pulled out about 5 hairs last time, so I won't be using them anymore :(1
These are great! Super cute & STRONG! I received the green set.
I have very long & very thick hair, the kind that snaps pony tail elastics & requires an ubnoxious amount of bobby pins. I am in the process of growing out bangs, so these are a cute alternative to barrettes & headbands.
These bobby pins hold my hair away from my face & out of my eyes until I remove them. They hold my hair firmly, without digging or giving me a headache. These suckers are strong! That being said, I can see the frustration one might have using them.
I find that pulling them slightly open when sliding them in helps a great deal. The same goes for removing them. If I don't pull them open, they'll snag a bit at the ends.
I'm not sure that they're the kind you would use in a top-knot, at least with the amount of hair I'm dealing with, but I noticed that a thinner version is available on this site. I intend to purchase both the thick & thin types, in the "brights" & "flowers". Sure, they might be pricy, but they are both functional AND attractive.
I have thick curly hair that would eat these bobby pins for lunch. However, I did give them to an office mate who liked them, but again, they're bobby pins!2
These will keep your hair up AND make a statement!
Don't worry about flyaways, falldowns, same old hairdos, or regular looks with these pins around.
I have a lot of hair. And I mean A LOT! When using normal bobby pins, just a bun can take more than 25. But with these Jane Tran pins, it can just be four or five to hold my style in place. I love that they're thicker, and more durable. They stay in place but don't pull my hair out when I take them out. I just love them.4
These pins are great because they have great hold and the patterns are so, so cute! They can be hard to put in but they stay for hours.5
These bobby pins are awesome. They have a much stronger hold than your typical bobby pins and are much cuter. These are a great accessory to spice up any outfit or let your personality shine through!4
