We all need a quick cover-up every once in awhile, whether you forgot to bring a towel to the shower or an aggressive wave made off with your bikini. Keep your home, your office, and your beach bag stocked with foutas. These lightweight cotton numbers originally hail from Turkish baths and can be used as a sarong, a throw, a tablecloth, a scarf, or a surprisingly absorbent beach and bath towel.
I bought this in purple for my trip to barbados. It wrinkles easily but other then that no complaints. It's super absorbent, it folds to a small size and looks much prettier then a regular towel. I can't see anyone using this as a cover up (the material is a bit rough I think) so don't buy it for that purpose- this is definitely more of a beach blanket/towel5
I LOVE this towel. I use it as a wrap, and I was able to help my fam when they needed to change babies after swim! It's so multi-use, it's not even funny! And it folds up very small, so you can toss it in a bag!5
I purchased this in green and adore it. I intentionally picked one that was not the waffle weave, as I like the straight moisture sucking cotton on my skin. I've had several fouta's over the years, and this is right up on top of my stack for absorbency. Some just don't absorb well, but this one is great. I have dry skin, so getting water off my body ASAP is important to me. Just toss it in the wash the first time to get it completely wet, then it sucks up liquid like crazy. Never use fabric softener on towels of any kind, it kills the absorbency. I don't put my fouta's in the dryer, even though this one says it can go on low. I just hang it on the shower bar after a wash, and it's usually completely dry within an hour. This one does tend to wrinkle a bit more than others, but that's not a deal breaker for me. They are huge, about the size of bath sheets, and fold incredibly small and flat. Great for vacations, beach, camping, or picnic blankets.5
This is a wonderful product. I bought it in heather blue and absolutely love the color. It functions well as a wrap to keep you warm and folds down to a nice small size to store in your bag. It's well made of a fairly thick fabric (while still remaining light weight overall) so I'm not worried about it snagging on anything.
I would agree with others who said that it might not be great as a scarf or sarong. It's a little too bulky for that.
I bought this in green. Like someone else said, it is more canvas than cotton. It's cute for a cover up or sarong, but I've been using it as a towel. I wouldnt buy another one, it is just too much money for what it is. I've found similar products at half the price on other sites.2
Took this with me on a recent trip to Florida. It came in handy as both a cover up and a blanket for my 2 year old. She liked the color and the softness and I loved the way it felt as well. It will definitely become a staple in my travel bag!5
I got this in blue for a friend. I definitely see this being used as a blanket or tablecloth, but not as a sarong or a scarf!3
I bought the pink one and I love it! It's perfect for the beach as it folds up small in your bag. The only thing is that these are the waffle-y kind, so it gets a little misshapen after putting it in the dryer. I prefer my other one that's more canvas-y and washes better. Works great as a sarong, too!4
I use it like a blanket and like that it folds very small and flat- easy for a carry on. The material is sturdy, but a little like canvas. I would be in love with this if it was softer.3
