To (very loosely) paraphrase Clueless's lead heroine Cher Horowitz, "Trying to find a lightweight, nongreasy sunscreen is like trying to find meaning in a Pauly Shore movie." In other words, nearly impossible. That is, until we discovered this mineral-rich formula from CoTZ. Silky-smooth to the touch, the formula blends in quickly and leaves behind a sheer matte finish. It's free of oil, harsh chemicals, and fragrances, and won't upset sensitive skin. Best for medium skin tones, the complexion-matching formula blends in seamlessly and masks minor flaws.
Product smell was good. Dried smooth and not greasy. Do not the tint feature.3
Given to me from the Men's sample box. I loved it. Went on great, my skin felt smooth and does have a very light tint. I used it under my makeup and it worked well.4
I do not wear sunscreen on my face since I have a full beard and wear hats regularly, no need for sunscreen. Sample size was not enough to put it anywhere else really, I got one forearm covered. Not something I hope to receive again3
This seems like it would be effective, however it is too heavy and thick for my combination skin. It made me break out.3
I was originally skeptical of the idea of "tinted" sunblock. However, it did an excellent job.4
I hate to wear BB creams, foundations, etc but LOVE this one! I usually wash off any other creams soon after applying them. This is very lightweight. I can't even tell I'm wearing it, although I love how it evens out my skin tone. I will be buying this soon!!
very small sample size makes for a difficult review outside of saying that it goes on smooth and doesn't leave a greasy residue after application4
I really liked the size of the sample and the lotion is really pleasant.4
Received a tube of this in my Birchbox this month, and was very excited to try it. I have very fair, sensitive skin; so sunscreen is a daily staple for me. I'm fairly happy with my current facial sunscreen, but would like to be able to use one that relies on physical ingredients (titanium dioxide and zinc oxide) as opposed to chemical sunscreens. The problem with most physical sunscreen lotions are consistency, white tint, and smell. Most sunscreens containing zinc or titanium are thick, goopy, and hard to spread.
I'm happy to announce that this sunscreen has NONE of those problems! The consistency is a bit odd at first: something like whipped chocolate mousse. It was surprising, but I found it was easy to spread on my skin and felt great once on. Not heavy or greasy or shiny at all. The odor? There is none! No beach-y smell, no flower-y perfume-y smell. My skin looks matte, yet feels softer and moisturized. All in all, a great sunscreen!
But... the tint is definitely not for those of us with fair skin. My skin looked slightly dirty after applying. It's just too dark for me. I will happily repurchase in a lighter tone though. The cost is definitely worth it to me.
Maybe it's because I'm a guy, but I don't really notice a difference using this stuff vs. other similar products. It didn't smell terrible, though, which is my usual complaint when it comes to sunblock.4
