As SPF fiends, we know it’s tough to find a non-greasy sunscreen that feels great even under our makeup. We’re fans of CoTZ’s mineral-rich sunscreen because the silky formula has a sheer matte finish, which means we can even layer foundation or BB cream on top without worrying about excess oil or shine.
This spf is really thick. It doesn't really soak in or rub in, and it has a strange finish- not sticky or greasy, but basically it just feels like it sits on top of your face. It's pastey white, so it makes your face look like a ghost if you don't put foundation over it. I wish I hadn't bought it.
1I applied it to my face before heading out to the beach and was confident that I was safe from the sun this time... It seems like once that first wave hit my face and I wiped the water from my eyes, I wiped all of the sunscreen off too. I am diligent about reapplying, and I was this time too, but there was a definite line (burn) around where the facial sunscreen was supposed to be and the other sunscreen I had applied began. I was very disappointed as I really liked the way it felt on my skin, and the coverage was nice looking.
2The Natural Skin Tone is sold out, but my skin tone is NC15 so I thought I'd be able to make the Light Skin Tone Version work. No. Even on my fair skin this creates a patchy white mess that doesn't seem to sink in no matter how much I blend it out. The texture also seems a bit more emollient and not as matte as the Natural Skin Tone version. What is up with that. I may be returning this.
2I liked this, but didn't love it. I have fair to light skin, and I thought the lighter version of this would be good for me but it doesn't really have any tint to it at all (just a bit of a white cast). The product was very thick and kind of hard to spread. However, it was very mattifying, and would be good for people with oily skin. It works very well as a sunscreen/makeup primer combo, it just wasn't for me.
