Were suckers for a minty, tingly shampoo—it gives us the feeling that something is happening. And in the case of this protein-enriched shampoo, something really is happening: This pearlescent formula eradicates accumulated grime (thanks to tea tree oil), ups your strands' elasticity and strength (courtesy of oat proteins and amino acids), and promotes hair growth (cheers, cinnamon bark extract).
Sounds like the shampoo has everything I want it to have and do. But I wish it didn't have Methylparaben. I wish it had more natural and organic ingredients. Hopefully they come out with a line that is Parabens and petrochemical free1
There were a couple of things I noticed about this product on the first use:
1) it was hard to get the shampoo out of the sample bottle - it's thick compared to most other shampoos I've tried. I see they've addressed that with a pump on the full size version.
2) it smelled great - not overly minty so your hair would smell like TicTacs all day, but clean and fresh
3) the lather was really dense - almost meringue like, compared to the shampoo I was using that lathered up into dish soap lather.
4) it rinsed out really easily and quickly and literally left my hair squeaky clean. I didn't use a conditioner, but found that it wasn't necessary - my hair felt great and obeyed my brush's commands.
Very pleased with this product and I plan on buying the full size version.
Huge fan of Baxter products. Fresh smelling along with a confidence in cleanliness.
Baxter does not disappoint.
The shampoo takes two to three pumps and distributes a minty fresh experiences that gives tingles to your shower.
I bought this for my teenage son several months ago. He doesn't notice much but commented on how much he loves this shampoo. He likes the way his hair feels. He has very thick but fine, wavy hair. I noticed when he ran out and used another brand his hair wasn't as soft, shiny, or manageable.5
I am baffled by the 4 and 5 star reviews on this one? The product description sounds awesome! The actual shampoo and conditioner...not so much.
I have short, fine, blond hair but require several pumps to get any kind of lather going on my head and it doesn't feel like a satisfying shampoo on any metric. I tried really to like this product...because frankly I am now stuck with it. But I find myself looking for *any* other shampoo in my shower. This is the least favorite option.
Why do I keep coming back to Baxter? Because it is a high-end brand, without the high-end price. It is subtle.5
Loved the smell. Lathered very well. It worked very well and left my hair smelling great. I would definately buy again.5
Love the scent and the tingle. Makes me feel like it's really working.4
The barber shop I frequent boasts products aplenty for customers to peruse. I'd seen this shampoo on the shelf when I'd square up with the barber, but I'd shy away because of the price tag. Two cuts ago, the barber shampooed me and left a feeling reminiscent of the warmth and freshness from the stolen nips off the old man's schnapps flask. I asked what brand it was and she walked over and practically handed me the bottle. The mint doesn't overwhelm and it sizzles in all the right ways. My hair felt fresh and not stripped after I rinsed. Superior quality.5
I decided to try this out because I was out of my normal go-to shampoo (M+G Peppermint). Within a day or two of using it, my scalp began flaking heavily. I sometimes get a flake or two in the winter when the air starts to dry out but never anything like this.
I switched back to my normal shampoo and my scalp went back to normal. Just to be sure I tried it again 2 weeks later and I started flaking heavily the very next day. I've tried lots of different shampoos with peppermint, tea tree oil, etc in the past and have never had this problem. Really disappointed and hoping others aren't having the same issues.
