If you can't pop into Baxter's Los Angeles barbershop—a throwback complete with vintage porcelain chairs and hot towel treatments—this shave cream is the next best thing. A smooth, spreadable formula provides a protective barrier for skin and paves the way for an extraclose shave. Botanicals like tea tree oil, witch hazel, menthol, and peppermint prevent razor burn while leaving behind the signature tingle of a shave well-done.
I just switched to a safety razor by baxter. This shaving cream works well. Gets lathered on your face pretty well and provides a shave that leaves your skin feeling smooth. I am not sure if this provides me with the closest shave, but it did reduce my razor bumps.4
So this didn't lather very much, even with a brush, which is fine, but somehow it was still thick enough to clog my razor. Nice smell, and otherwise effective.5
I get a super close and smooth shave. No nicks, love this stuff4
This shave cream might be perfect for someone who uses a straight razor. It doesn't leather up too heavily and really does get to a close shave. But it's so think, so if you use a multi-blade razor, it will utterly ruin the blades. It gets totally stuck in them, and then the next shave will be bad--or bloody. Really not for me.1
One of the better shaving creams I've tried. Might just have to pick a full size after I finish what I have now. I shave occasionally and use a safety razor and brush. This product goes on and lathers well, prevents irritation and gives you a great close cut.5
I very much love Baxter's and all of their products, especially this one. It's a must have for any of your needs :)5
I've actually bought this before and it just doesn't work for me. My beard comes in very course and this doesn't help shave at all. My go-to is a silicone based one that is sold on this site.2
Ok so after receiving birchbox for a while now, it's clear that shave cream is the #1 ingredient. I've tried and tried to embrace every one and for some reason I just can't back it. I still buy and use the old fashioned "foam in a can" barber stuf. I guess it's a mental thing. More foam=better shave, right? I will however continue to use the samples I get and this one was the best of the bunch.3
This stuff works fine as a shave cream, but it really gunks up the razor. I had to throw a brand new cartridge out because I couldn't get this stuff out of it. Will not be buying!2
Good shave and nice scent. If I didn't already have a favorite, I'd consider switching to this product.3
