Baxter of California Invigorating Body Wash

We like a good bar soap, but we have to admit that sometimes a shower gel is just better. For one thing, there’s zero risk of slippery soap droppage. And don’t get us started on soap scum. But the real reason to use a liquid over a solid is that gels, like this mild but effective formula from the cult men’s grooming brand, hydrate as they cleanse, rather than stripping your skin of moisture like many bars.

Bad smell

Awful smell, made me think of body odor smell. The exact opposite of what you want from a body wash. If I wanted to smell like that I just wouldn't shower at all.

NOT INVIGORATING
Sampled

I was previously disappointed by Baxter's eye-cream that I had the opportunity to sample. The cream was nothing more than a lotion that couldn't keep its promise to reduce dark circles and freshen up your eyes. I am equally disappointed by this body wash that, AGAIN, can not keep its promise. C'mon Baxter! It's frustrating to see a product miss the mark so egregiously. First, it claims to be "invigorating." It isn't. There's nothing remotely refreshing about this body wash. It's akin to anything you would find for free after a hotel stay. Then, it promises to have a lime and pomegranate scent. It doesn't. Unless the combination of lime and pomegranate smells remarkably like cucumber water, I don't see how (or why) Baxter would label the scent as such. This is strike two for Baxter, but honestly, I'm hoping never to see their products in my Birchbox again. I rather avoid experiencing strike three.

Baxter of California Invigorating Body Wash smells odd. I much prefer my brand I already use.

Who put this teenage girl body wash in my Men's Birchbox?! Seriously though, the Italian Lime and Pomegranate Essence smells like a Bath & Body Works concoction. I used it once and it my skin demanded another shower.

Did not like the smell

Won't be buying this. I liked the hair care sample in the previous box, but these shower gels smelled like kitchen cleaners.

It could be that I didn't have enough of the samples to really give this product a fair try, but my overall impression is that it just didn't lather well. In fact, I used two of the samples at once, and still couldn't build up a good lather. I don't have hard water, and don't have this problem with other products. I probably won't be purchasing this. I do admit I enjoyed the scents though.

The samples are all too flowery. I like man scents and prefer soap bars not floofy loofas and flowery body washes.
