Deborah Lippmann’s got the beat with her Staccato Collection, a group of ice cream-inspired, glitter-flecked nail polish shades. Rockin’ Robin, a summery blue-green polish speckled with black glitter, will rock your fingertips all day long—and have you craving a dish of mint chip. Two scoops, please!
The 'mint chip' in the BB description describes this polish much better than the name. It needs about 3 coats for opacity, by which point there are way too many flecks. And the creme base is a pale green rather than light turquoise -- much less saturated color than the photo suggests.
It can be used for a great robin's egg effect by layering one or two coats over a turquoise base coat. However, a light turquoise creme and a black or brown mini glitter would accomplish the same effect and open up other possibilities.
I bought this from the photo and thought it would be a bit thicker. It's runs a little thinner than I would have liked. Still a cute idea and I plan on wearing it in the Spring.3
The color is absolutely amazing... lots of compliments. However, it's practically impossible to get off and I ended up with little black dots all over my hands that refused to come off! Resorted to putting it on my toes so I can still enjoy the color, but don't get all spotty because I'm leaving it there until it grows out and off! LOL3
I wasn't as fond of this in person as I was when I saw pictures of it on other people's nails. It does look cool though, don't get to wrong. One annoying con is that I found it very difficult to remove. The glitter clings to your nails for dear life.3
When I saw promotion for Deborah Lippmann's new line of ice-cream inspired nail polishes, I was stoked! Great nail polish trend. However, the polish itself was really chunky and the effect wasn't as cool as I thought it'd be on my nail.3
This is such a great color! Wonderful for the Summer. Used a base coat with two polish coats on top. My finger nails chipped a bit quicker than I'd like, but as a toenail polish it stayed strong. Top coat next time.4
This polish is absolutely gorgeous. Unique and interesting, but not too loud. Looks just like a robin's egg. Highly recommend.4
This was worth the price absolutely. Only took two coats and it stayed on nicely. Taking the polish off wasn't as difficult as I thought; it peeled right off. Oh and it's beautiful. Got so many compliments.4
I have been eyeing this polish for a while and finally coughed up the money to get it. It took about 3 coats to cover evenly and is really pretty! The polish is on the thin side but I think it has to be so that you can see the glitter through the layers. The only thing I am disappointed about is that it is already chipping after one day. I didn't put a base coat but did use a quick drying polymer top coat.4
This polish is a little on the pricey side. I normally purchase OPI but loved the color so I splurged for this one. While I love the color I was not pleased with the durability of the polish. It tends to chip easily.4
