While we have a soft spot for the disco balls of middle school dances, we’re nonetheless glad to see that glitter’s all grown up. This sophisticated lacquer by Deborah Lippmann is almost as mesmerizing as the classic Beatles song. The transparent deep blue base is clustered with tiny iridescent turquoise, green, and blue chips, which, to paraphrase Mr. Lennon, will shine around you like a million suns.
This is gorgeous nail color. However it takes at least three coats of polish to cover opaque. In addition it is very streaky to apply. I still love it.4
Gorgeous, because of the jelly polish base and the way it layers, each nail becomes a deep sea glitter-fest that seems to swim in and out of view at different angles. I've never owned anything like this before in my 26 years, and it dries far more consistently that I expected. 4 layers with a good base and a nice thick topcoat make this really shine.
You can also try wearing it over a dark polish to bring out the microglitter!
You can never have enough DL polish. She has so many great colors and now the perfect glitter polish. So many people say too much glitter on your nails is gaudy but I love glitter.5
I'm new to doing my nails on a regular basis, but even I had heard of Deborah Lippmann's Across the Universe polish. I was glad when it was added to the Birchbox store. The color is just as beautiful in real life, and it goes on smoothly (which I can't say for other glitters I have tried). If you are partially intrigued by the color go ahead and get it!5
Across the Universe is one of the prettiest colors I've used in a long time. It goes on very smoothly, and is a great way to dress up a summertime pedicure!5
