Inspired by our global offices in four of the world’s classic cities (not to mention our love of travel), this bold collection of minis—created exclusively for Birchbox—features summer's hottest hues. Our editors worked closely with Color Club to develop these custom shades, visiting the brand’s Long Island factory to collaborate with the brand’s in-house chemist. You definitely won't find anything like these on-trend, brightly hued polishes anywhere else.
The color is honestly very cute and creates a bold statement. I have not worn it long enough to look at how well it holds up, but I can say it seems to be promising. However, it does go on kind of streaky. I use Chanel brilliant top coat and it makes it look wonderful and smooth, but that I a quality of the chanel. Its great if you use a top coat. Kinda matte, compared to other nail polishes on the market, if not.4
I love the color of this polish and it seems to cover nicely.5
I got a sample of this in the pastel green color and I'm not a fan of the way it leaves steaks on my nails. I'm used to a much smoother application.3
I was really excited to use this color (I got the orange), but was so disappointed in how the polish went on. It streaked and clumped and just looked a mess, even after two coats. It was not easy to get off, either. Maybe I got a bad bottle?1
I received, "Pardon my French" in my June box. It is a beautiful purple color. Reminds me of Easter eggs.4
I got the off white, sorta cream shade called "Mod Manhatten" in my June Birchbox. It is amazing. I recently switched almost entirely to using gel polish. But this polish is amazing. It applies smoothly and it's opaque in two codes, for such a light shade it's rare.5
I think Color Club has great colors; however, their formula is poor. It chips (yes, I use OPI top and base coats) within 24 hours of application (no, I don't do manual labor).3
I received the Reign In Spain coral polish in my box this month and while initially was disappointed- I was hoping for the white or purple color as corals don't usually look good on my pink, freckly skin tone- I actually really love it! It's very bright and feels like summer. I did find the polish to be very thick and not easily applicable. Next time I won't do it myself and will take it to my salon for the experts to apply!5
Ew. I am offended that they send me London Calling as the sample - any of the others would have been cute. This one is so ugly that I wouldn't even spend $8 to order the 4-pack because I don't want another bottle of this hideous color. Pros- it dries fast and the other colors look like they would be cute and trendy. Cons- London Calling looks like radioactive mold or fungus is taking over your hands and feet. Gross. Also, it peels off easily.2
I rarely paint my own nails, since I do a horrible job of it! lol. I love this shade though, and I intend on bringing it with me to the nail shop :)4
