The nautical trend isn't just for seersucker pants or preppy boat shoes. Make waves (and keep your budget in shipshape) with these mariner-inspired hair ties. They effortlessly keep hair secure without snagging strands or leaving behind ugly creases. Best of all, they look as good on our wrists as they do in our ponytails.
I like the idea in concept, but the execution is poor. First of all, the patterns are childish and bright, second, the big knot at the end is awkward, and third, they stretch out and get all crumpled really easily so you can't even just use it as a bracelet. I'm sick of cheap products being thrown in to fill out the boxes. where is the value?
1I actually went out on a limb and bought twistbands from Birchbox before this sample, so I was already aware of this product. Just like the ones I bought before, this one stretched out way too fast and didn't actually hold my hair - in a ponytail or bun (I have fine hair, but a lot of it and it's a little past my shoulders).
1Oops, this looked like a 14 year old bracelet to me and after wearing around my wrist for an afternoon I threw it away. I don't dig the tied end. If it was just a full circle I probably would have used it as a hair tie, but I have a ton and didn't even think of that. Oh well...
1I see a lot of positive reviews for this item and I'm not sure why! I thought it was super cute at first and I thought it would be great, but in reality it's not that useful.
On the up side, it did give minimal crimping in my pony tail. When I took it out after having it up all day, there was only a SLIGHT pony tail bump, so that was great!
On the down side, it wasn't very stretchy and didn't hold up my hair well. My hair was falling down from the pony tail. Then the piece folded and got a crease in the middle, which made it smaller when I put my hair up and then I got the pony tail bump that I'm not supposed to get. After using it for a few days, it stretched out and become useless.
