Unlike the charcoal you toss in a grill, activated charcoal—also known as activated carbon—has been treated with oxygen to remove dirt, debris, and pollution deep beneath the skin's surface. And that's just the magical ingredient in this hard-working mask. Harnessing the purifying power of natural charcoal, it gets rids of pore-clogging impurities revealing a more radiant complexion. Still not totally convinced? Read more about its good-for-you benefits people have been using for ages.
Not only did it not do anything, it sank into my pores. Once in my pores, it was impossible to get out without harsh scrubbing. Really, it was hard to get off my entire face without rough scrubbing. So, not only did it not help, it probably gave me some new wrinkles thanks to the abuse I had to put my skin through to get it off.1
This mask dried my skin out really badly and I had to spend the next few days after using it getting everything back to normal.1
The products fragrance was not a pleasant smell especially not to put on your face1
While this product made my skin smooth and shiny, it actually made me break out Always, without fail, each time I tried to use it-I'd break out on my cheeks or chin.2
So heard rave reviews about charcoal masks and decided to try one. Weird putting a smelly black product on my face. Left it on my face for a while because it was suppose to dry on my face and did not. I ended up washing it off and saw no difference and had to wash my face.2
This is OK but sometimes it caused my skin to break out more after and took a few days for it to calm down. It did clean out my pores on my nose, but the cheeks, and chin, where I am prone to breakouts broke out even worse.2
I bought this mask because of all the positive reviews it received and tried it before I went to bed. Immediately after I rinsed it off, my skin seemed slightly softer, but I noticed no difference in the amount of blackheads or size of my pores. I waited til the next day before dismissing it, but alas, no difference in the morning either.2
I really like clay masks and was hopeful this one would be good as I like a lot of Origins products. Unfortunately, I only tried it once and now the tube is just sitting because it got my towels and shirt all black. I was still trying to get black stuff out of my nose and other crevices an hour later.2
I have pretty sensitive skin, and it's combination, and prone to acne. I bought this mask as a travel size, and I just don't see the difference in my skin. I try to use it once a week, and it doesn't do anything bad to my skin, but I don't notice any benefits?2
I feel like I was one of the unlucky few for whom this product just did not agree.
I started using this mask a few times in one week and in a couple days I started seeing way more new breakouts than before (and my skin had been pretty clear for a while). I took a break and waited for it to clear up and then several weeks later when I saw the beginnings of a new breakout, I gave this product another shot BUT as a spot-treatment tool (so not all over my face) and it did a really good job for treating that one area.
For people with sensitive skin, I would recommend trying it out first before buying the full product. Also, if a full face mask doesn't work, use this for spot treatment.
