There are very few people who have mastered the art of blow drying with a round brush, which is why getting a professional blow out is such a treat. But we've been doing a happy dance ever since we discovered Spornette's Porcupine Rounder Brush, which helps us easily replicate blowouts at home. The brush's unique combo of nylon and porcupine bristles gently grips strands to make it easy to style, while also adding amazing shine.
This brush is great and easy to use. I like to use it when I give myself big banana waves ! The brush is not that big so your wrist doesn't get tired when you are using it.5
I have very thin and fine hair slightly below shoulder length and tend to do a 30 second upside-down blow dry with my hands just to walk out the door. I was hesitant to buy this because I was afraid it would frizz up/dry out my hair the way a too-hot flat iron can, but also didn't see myself adding 20 minutes to my morning routine to perfectly blow out my hair myself. I thought it would probably be a waste of money and add more clutter to my drawer. BOY WAS I WRONG
I am beyond thrilled with this brush. It takes me about 3 extra minutes to dry my hair and it is so shiny and smooth with body I have only ever seen from a professional blowout before this. The first time I tried this out before work even my clueless male boss asked if I had my hair done. I simply make a half pony and clip the top section up, then blow dry angled downwards (so the hairdryer is above my head) as I hold the hair taught with the brush and lightly roll the ends in a few sections. Then I let down the clipped top half and repeat in 3-4 sections around the top half with a little extra attention at the front and part area. Voila!!!
I can see this being a bit trickier and more work for those lucky gals with thicker locks, but for my thin hair sisters out there I highly recommend!!
I never knew a simple hair brush could hold so much power! I have medium to think wavy (not in the good way) hair. I can not pull off the stick straight look and decided to give up trying to accomplish that for good. I did some research and found that with my hair type this style of brush should give me the perfect blow out. I was skeptical...I used it as soon as I got it and...IT. WAS. AMAZING. It tamed my frizzy hair and fly aways. I only had to go over it with a flat iron in a FEW places the next day after I had slept on it. My blowout has lasted 3 days with barely any touch ups. I'm in love and highly suggest it to any one with medium to thick hair (not for fine, or coarse).5
So I really wanted to love this brush but my hair wasn't feeling it. I have shoulder length curly hair that I straighten a few times a week. The plastic bristles melted with my amika dryer and my hair was still a bit frizzy. The size of the brush is good and the wooden handle is great... if only my hair liked it.2
The brush has soft boar bristles with little hard plastic ones as well. I have perfectress hair extensions and this brush is perfect for my hair. Highly recommend if you have super long thick hair.5
This is a very nice brush but it is super big so it is not for everyone. It would be great for someone with curly hair to get it much straighter while blow drying. It was listed on Birchbox's site as the wrong brush size and customer service totally took care of me so that is why I am giving it 5 stars. It is a great brush for the right person, just not me. Thank you Birchbox for superior customer service!!5
This brush didnt really hold up to my hair dryer. I had to keep it far away from the dryer because my powerful dryer ended up melting some of the plastic. It also did a terrible job picking up my thick wavy hair.2
This is a great brush! I have fine hair that tends to go a bit flat, and this really pumps it up without pulling at the strands. However, it can give me some static, so I'm careful to use it on my hair when damp and with product. It's not vented, so use it with hair that's mostly dry.4
While I still haven't mastered the art of the round brush, I'm just happy I have found one that didn't get all tangled in my hair! So this brush is perfect. It's just my skill that is defective!4
I'm a hairdresser and this is by far my favorite boar bristle brush. It's a little hard to use at first but once you get the hang of it you're in for a treat.4
