When your dad taught you how to shave with that razor he’d removed the blades from, he was hoping that you’d grow up to use a shaving cream like this. This classic softens and lifts beard hairs, while simultaneously soothing and moisturizing your skin. Add some Sandalwood aromatherapy to the mix, and you’ve got something that is pops-approved.
I care about the products I use when I shave. This is a middle of the road product. There are far better products that Birchbox sells for the same price.2
I see a lot of the reviews stating that this product is not good for sensitive skin. I have very sensitive skin and have all but eliminated skin irritations using this product. I personally use the Lavender scent and along with smelling great, it leaves my skin feeling smoother and allows the closest shave I have ever had with no irritation (I also shave with AND against the grain of the hair). I would recommend going with a starter kit before buying a full size set, but according to The Art of Shaving, all scents but Ocean Kelp are made for sensitive skin.5
Even thought it's unscented, it does have a light fragrance. I have been using this product for years and really love it. It works best with a badger brush (I've found). Price is a little much, especially when you compare it with other tubes and canisters that are half the price and work just as well.4
I bought this for my husband and he likes it a lot. It goes on smooth and although pricey totally worth it.4
I have sensitive skin and recently used it on an overnight trip. This product irritated my skin and did not provide any moisture and left my skin red and irritated. A liberal application of my standard post-shave moisturizer did nothing to rectify the situation. I ended up throwing the rest of the product into the hotel trash- I'm going back to my standby.1
I'm pretty picky about shave products, this was a lot better than most. Razor glides smoothly, no burn, and it smells great.4
This was the first time that I tried this product and it wont be the last time. I am going to order the sandalwood scent right now.5
I've used this before and I enjoyed it. I use a straight edge to shave and a good shaving cream is quite important and this meets my needs.4
The sandalwood version of this product has a nice, masculine scent. The product lathers well when using a brush. On the downside, it is not for sensitive skin. It caused my skin to become very itchy and it burned a little. This product has many wonderful reviews, but it's simply not for men with sensitive skin.2
Art of Shaving makes the best shave products, period. I never get razor burn, always have a super close shave, and the scented products smell great. Don't waste your money on anything else.5
