If we were assigning high-school yearbook superlatives to products, argan oil would easily win “Most Likely to Succeed.” This Moroccan import is loved by foodies and beauty junkies alike; the former extol its health benefits (you can cook with the food-grade version), while the latter rave about its triple-threat effects on face, body, and hair. (It soothes dry skin, softens fine lines, guards against pollutants, and adds shine to strands, among other things.) In fact, argan oil has become so popular that the Moroccan government plans to triple annual production by 2020. Violet Oasis’ version is 100% pure, organic, and cold-pressed (which prevents degradation, allowing the oil to preserve more nutrients).
I didn't care for this at all. It made my hair really greasy and unmanageable and flat. It did smell good, but it was hard to get out of the container and I didn't care for what it did to my hair.2
This made my hair oily the first time I used it -- I used too much. After that, I used a little and it was great.5
This oil was ok. It was pretty effective, but I already use a similar product that I think is much more effective. The texture seems to be a little different.3
I have been using argan oil on my thin, frizzy hair for years. It is an amazing product which calms my frizzy hair without adding weight. This is the first time I have tried this particular brand and it has not disappointed. However, it's a little on the pricey side and I usually buy another brand that offers twice as much product for the same price. Thanks for the sample though!5
I haven't used this product in my hair as I am afraid it may become more oily. I have used this as a moisturizer and it didn't leave my face feeling greasy. There really isn't a scent, but I didn't mind that.3
I really have thin and fine hair, so this oil was a little too much for my hair type. I4
This is the second Argan Oil sample that Birchbox has sent me. I have straight/slightly wavy semi-thin hair and it gets frizzy when it's humid. Argan Oil is the best defrizzer I have used. I put it in my hair when it's halfway between wet and dry, and it really calms the frizz down.
This particular brand works well. It smells a lot like cranberries, which is kind of odd, but I'm fine with the smell.
If you have frizzy hair, Argan Oil is a great option!
I liked this product for my face and skin, but it made my hair oily. I have very fine, thin hair so that's probably a reason. I highly recommend it for the face and skin though. I am not buying it because I have a reasonably priced moisturizer already, but will consider it in the future!4
I feel like my hair feels greasy when I use it. Never thought of using it on skin, but worried my sensitive skin will break out. Afraid to try it on skin.3
This product made my hair smooth and shiny. I love it! I helped my calm my frizz and even helped some dry patches on my skin. All around a fantastic product.5
