We know you love diving into samples as much as we do, and the Mystery Sample Pack gives you the chance to try some of our favorite products. Receive two samples for free by spending $35+ on any full-size products from the shop. It includes one deluxe sample and one standard sample that we’re especially excited about right this minute, and here’s the really fun part: Their identities will remain secret until you receive your order. Alternatively, you can purchase this mysterious sample duo on its own for $10.
It was a bottle of nail polish and a sample of lotion. I liked the lotion. I wasn't that impressed with the mystery pack but, hey, it was free.4
I got some great samples in my mystery pack. I know some people don't like foil packets but I don't mind them, I mean, they are freebies and let us try new products!!5
I got this for free with a $35 order, and I'm happy with the products for being gree. I wouldn't be very happy if I had paid $10, however. Both of the products are items I have received in previous boxes, but that is okay with me.3
I love getting new samples to try and sample is simply that, a sample. I don't think it's worth $10 but good enough for free if you spend $35. Never know what you'll get as a mystery is.1
I received a Aveda Color Conserve Shampoo (travel size bottle) and small tin of Cargo Cosmetics. I don't color my hair so... only one item is useful to me. Do these items match with my Birchbox Profile? I don't know.
While I added this on to my order for free; I would never pay $10 for these samples.
In the future, I would be more likely to select a different deal from the Bonus Shop.
Glad I had a coupon code for this...it was a packet of hair glaze and a very small tube of night moisturizer. Ridiculous for $10.1
I order ALOT from birchbox - yes, I am little obsessed. And I like free as much as the next person. The first couple of times I received the mystery pack for free I got what I would consider good samples (aka things I would I try but may not purchase full priced). While I realize I may not 'like' everything, I am okay with the chances. However, the past 3 orders, each with their own sample pack (total of 6 samples) - I got 3 of the same BB cream, 2 of the same conditioner, and 1 separate thing. While I don't mind free, I do wish I wasn't getting the same sample.3
Can't really beat free, so not sure how one would rate this anything below a "5". I received a trial perfume tube and a face cream. It is always nice to get a little bonus with your order.5
Received a small foil sample of conditioner that was not even enough for one use. So I cannot review that product , But since it was free I guess I can't complain huh? The other product I received was an eyeshadow pencil from Sumita.. The color is a violet purple and is a really pretty shade. It went on very smooth and I liked the pencil form. I threw away the package and forgot to look and see what this pencil normally sells for, so depending on Price if I would purchase this product when it runs out or not.2
Judging by other reviews what samples you get are completely random. I would never pay the $10 not knowing if I was gonna get 2 little foil packs or 2 neat things but since they were free with my order I can't complain.
I ended up with a Dr. Jart+ Night BB beauty balm which was a relatively small size (.17 oz) which is maybe an inch and a half tall and less than an inch across. The next sample was a decent sized Peter Thomas Roth anti-aging cleansing gel which was 2 oz and the size of the bottle stuck out of both sides of my hands when I tried to close a fist around it.
So I don't think the products were bad, I'll probably give the BB cream a shot but since I'm still in my 20's I'm not too worried abou an anti-aging face wash but I'll probably throw it in the "to go" bag of products I have in case I need to leave my apartment over a night or two and don't have much time to pack.
