Step away from the harsh, hair-stripping shampoos. Meet No Poo, the “anti shampoo” that has revolutionized how curly girls wash their hair. This creamy lather-free cleanser gently cleanses curls without drying out your hair, so you’re left with soft, shiny spirals without that pesky halo of frizz.
I've been using this shampoo for about 3 months now and it works great on my color treated, curly, thin and fine hair. Last time I went to get my hair done my stylist complimented me on my healthy hair- yay! It took some getting used to at first, so you may need to mess around with it a bit until you figure out the right amount and strategies that work for your hair, but I'd definitely recommend this product!4
The who Deva curl line is amazing. I personally went to Capella salon, where Shai has perfected the art if reviving dead and lifeless curls. I just ordered the birchbox for curly girls and in it was the no poo cleanse. The scent is clean and powerful and it will give you a sud free wash, which is perfect because I need every essential oil I have. I also have the conditioner, which can be used as a product too (instead of rinsing all the way out, leave 30% in). The result, beautiful, vibrant curls! I also used ouidad humidity control to keep the frizz down. And match made in heaven if you ask me! I love it!5
I have fine, curly mid-length hair. This conditioning cleanser worked OK but did nothing special for my hair. I found no reason to switch from my regular volumizing shampoo and conditioner to this product.3
My curls have never been so great! Nourished and no frizz!5
I took this on a trip to Jamaica and is was the perfect thing to have after a long day in the pool and at the beach. Made my hair easy to comb through with my fingers and left it soft and easy to manage. I like vacation to be a low maintenance experience so this was just the thing. My hair felt clean and it was easy to work with. Will definitely consider purchasing this product in the future.4
Pros: This stuff WORKS. It cleans your hair without stripping away its natural softness and curl. Seriously, you won't be able to stop touching your hair the first few days.
Cons: It really does smell weird. Not particularly strong, not particularly terrible, but weird. It also take a decent amount of shampoo to get through all your hair, so it's pretty pricey. Also, if you have any hair that regularly touches your face (bangs, shorter pieces along your cheeks), they will likely look a little greasy by day two.
What I do: I slather this stuff onto my roots and then comb it through my hair. That is the best way to distribute the non-lathering product. I also wash my bangs in regular shampoo to keep them from getting a greasy buildup. The slight alteration to my routine is worth it!
Used it for few months because I felt that it did help with my wavy/curly hair. Then I noticed that I was having a lot of hair loss. I have changed from the shampoo and conditioner (still use the defining gel) and have noticed a lot less hair loss.1
This has totally changed my hair game. I thought it was all talk, because my sister and mom can kind of be on the product trend hunt, but then I finally tried it. Add the conditioner and gel (which does not feel like gel!), and boom. Insta babe.5
has a weird smell to it but it worked good for my hair4
I like this product but I feel like I have to use a lot of it since it doesn't lather. It does help with detangling though and doesnt make my hair feel dry after it's washed off, like a lot of other shampoos do.4
