Step away from the harsh, hair-stripping shampoos. Meet No Poo, the “anti shampoo” that has revolutionized how curly girls wash their hair. This creamy lather-free cleanser gently cleanses curls without drying out your hair, so you’re left with soft, shiny spirals without that pesky halo of frizz.
I think it's a great idea, they use natural ingredients and all you need is this cleanser. No shampoo! Compared to the other products I've sampled, I still am a fan of the beauty protector.3
I bought this product after my stylist recommended it.
I'd tried shampooing with baking soda for a very mild case of seborrheic dermatitis. Baking soda was great for cleaning my scalp, but it dried my hair too much and left it brittle.
So, I tried this shampoo (or "no-poo"). I was impressed the first time I used it. It cleaned my scalp as well as baking soda (perhaps better), but left my hair feeling nice and soft.
With repeated use, I was less impressed. It still cleans my scalp well, but I wasn't as happy with how limp my hair was. Sure, it's frizz-free, but -- for me, anyway -- the curl isn't as bouncy as it had been.
I went back to using my regular shampoos, including professional products, but they didn't clean my scalp well enough.
So, my new shampoo routine includes DevaCurl No-Poo once a week -- to get my scalp nice and clean -- and more moisturizing products in-between, to keep my hair shiny, bouncy, and super-wavy.
I've been following this routine for a few weeks now, and I'm pleased with the results.
In my opinion, DevaCurl No-Poo is the answer if you need to deep-clean your scalp without harsh chemicals that can dry your hair. However, you may need to alternate it with a conditioning shampoo to maintain your curls if your hair is especially porous and dry.
I liked the way my hair looked and felt after using the product, but it smelled like medicinal dandruff shampoo that had rose scent added to cover up the medicine smell. The product itself is great, but I couldnt get over the smell, and it does stay with you all day. I have used other brands of the 'no poo' and liked them much better.3
Just tried this and so far I like it. The texture of my curls feels soft and non-frizzy and it smells nice.4
I love the smell of this stuff, but it takes a while to get used to the no suds. It is nice on my hair though, non drying and no frizz. I'm not sure how long it's supposed to take to break the habit from normal shampoos, but I'm giving it a go. I have long wavy hair and usually skip a day between shampoos... The smell really is great and I wish all their products smelled that way.4
I've been using this shampoo for about 3 months now and it works great on my color treated, curly, thin and fine hair. Last time I went to get my hair done my stylist complimented me on my healthy hair- yay! It took some getting used to at first, so you may need to mess around with it a bit until you figure out the right amount and strategies that work for your hair, but I'd definitely recommend this product!4
I took this on a trip to Jamaica and is was the perfect thing to have after a long day in the pool and at the beach. Made my hair easy to comb through with my fingers and left it soft and easy to manage. I like vacation to be a low maintenance experience so this was just the thing. My hair felt clean and it was easy to work with. Will definitely consider purchasing this product in the future.4
has a weird smell to it but it worked good for my hair4
I like this product but I feel like I have to use a lot of it since it doesn't lather. It does help with detangling though and doesnt make my hair feel dry after it's washed off, like a lot of other shampoos do.4
It's definitely worth it to try this out but be warned, it isn't like other shampoos. Yes, I know you read about it and know it doesn't lather but the feeling of rinsing that through will be different too. Still, my hair feels thicker and I have fewer fly-aways and split ends - considering I have curly hair and live in a desert, that's saying something.4
