An ace beauty primer is an essential beauty investment that will pay off in dividends. Our current fave is this innovative stick primer from the experts at Benefit. The easy-to-use applicator glides directly onto skin and leaves behind a nifty gel that grabs on to and locks your makeup. Even more miraculous, the longlasting formula stays put for an awe-inspiring 15 hours.
I've found that this works well as a primer if I apply it with a foundation brush, not the stick, and not my fingers. My skin also needs to be well-moisturized beforehand. However, I don't need to use much primer of any kind, nor do I need to use much foundation or powder. It works well for me but I don't think it would be good for people who need full coverage with their foundation or people with oily or dry skin.
So basically, it'll help you stay flawless ... if you're already pretty close to it to begin with. Benefit can do better.
I love primer. This is not a primer but more of a greasy stick. I am very disappointed with it. I would not buy it again...ever.1
For a primer, this is among my top 5 for sure. It's easy to use, goes on smooth, and doesn't have a harsh smell. Believe me, it honestly does keep your make up on for 15 hours! I start my days at 8 am with work, then classes mid-day, then finishing off my day by working until 11. On weekends, I'll go straight from work out with my friends. I usually rarely have time to reapply foundation or powder that has worn off, but with this you don't ever need to. It keeps your make up on all through the night (or into the morning) without failing. The one downside is it will make your face feel sticky and cakey for the first hour or so after you put it on, which can be uncomfortable for warmer days. Another downside is that if you don't get your concealer, foundation, and powder on within the first 5 minutes after applying, your primer will have already set and the concealer and all of that won't stay on for the full 15 hours. It will barely make it 6.4
It DOES stay on a while, but it feels kind of heavy and tacky. I don't know weather you put it on and rub it around or if you just glide it on your face. Don't get it on your eyelids either, they felt sticky and made my eyes water.3
This is one of my favorite primers. It's very easy to apply straight from the tube onto skin, then blend out with fingers. Goes on the skin slightly tacky and holds makeup in place all day. Keeps oil to a minimum. Great product!4
I was introcued to the benefit brand by birchbox and am so happy that I was! This product is amazing and doesnt feel heavy or sticky and works wonders!!! I always have issues with the eyeshadow creasing and smudging but with the Benefit Primer, i havent had any issues since!!!! My eye makeup looks so much better now thanks to this!!!5
This did absolutely nothing for me and I have extremely oily skin. Plus, I don't think the ingredients are very natural or good for your skin. Wouldn't spend the money on it, especially if you have oily skin like me.1
This primer applies easily as a stick and can be spread out more with your fingers. Some might say it can feel a little sticky, but I actually like that because it feels more like a heavy duty primer that can really lock in your makeup and reduce shine throughout the day.5
I have tried a ton of primers but this one takes the cake! Wow. My skin has never looked so good. I noticed there are a lot of not so good reviews, sayings its sticky or clumpy. The trick is after applying the primer you have to apply your foundation RIGHT away. It does not dry out my face or make it oily. I will not use anything else! Amazing!5
its weird. it feels so gross on my face and it doesn't work! ive tried several methods of application based on what ive found online by other purchasers and nothing seemed to do the trick. I have extremely oily skin and I was really hoping this product would save me! it was annoying because my face would crease on my smile lines and if I ever tried fixing it, my makeup in that area would wipe off completely. it was just totally weird to me.1
