You fell head-over-heels in love with Beauty Protector’s Protect & Detangle styling spray when we first sampled it. Thanks to your rave reviews, Beauty Protector went ahead and developed this Protect & Shampoo for an exclusive launch with Birchbox. The sulfate-free formula is powered by pearl powder, which is rich in conchiolin, an ingredient that acts like the hair protein keratin. This fortifying ingredient teams up with other nutrients that guard against and heal the effects of heat styling (think frizz and destroyed ends). The result is glossy, bouncy strands that, yes, also smell amazing.
Love the smell of this product!!! Lathers very well and left my hair smelling good all day.5
I really loved the scent of this shampoo - it was really great. It also did not weigh down my hair, which is very fine.5
I love a natural shampoo, but I had gone back to using yucky shampoo because the more natural varieties just didn't work. This one does. It smells amazing.5
I am a diehard believer in sulfate-free shampoo. As we all know, sulfate-free shampoos aren't the cheapest brand at the store (usually). That being said, this product is by far the best deal for your money. I have very long, thick hair, and I could get away with using a nickel-sized dollop of shampoo every day. The sample bottle alone lasted me a whole week! And the fragrance is unbelievable. Not too strong for those who are sensitive, and definitely lasts throughout the whole day!5
I love the salon shampoo I currently use, so I wasn't completely impressed with this product in comparison. It did leave my hair nice and smooth, and when used with the leave in conditioner spray (sample from a previous month) by the same brand, it really did leave my long hair looking great...even my ends that really are due for a trim. I am not a huge fan of the fragrance, though. I'm not big on warm sugary scents, but that is purely a personal preference.4
My hair is frizzy and thin so I usually use products to reduce the volume, but since I had it straightened I am trying things to give some body to it.
I LOVED its smell and consistency (think), and I did like the movement it gave to my hair, adding some fullness.
I have thick, 4C natural hair. I have been relaxer free for more than 10 years and I struggle with dryness and dullness. This shampoo (I used the conditioner too) has a thick, creamy, consistency and left my hair feeling clean but not straw like. I think I had fallen into the trap of thinking that I could only use products specifically marketed as being for African American hair, but this line has snapped me out of that! I will be purchasing.5
This shampoo lathered nicely and cleaned my strains very easily. A small amount of product was able to remove a thick layer of dry-shampoo residue. However, the scent was overpowering, too feminine and sweet. It smelt like drug store perfume.3
I didn't like that the shampoo didn't lather very well. However, the smell was nice. It seemed to add volume, although that is not what I look for in a shampoo. I tend to prefer products to encourage straight hair.3
Shampoo lathered really well. Hair was clean. I didn't notice anything special about shine or body or any of the other shampooy things brands usually brag about. I will say I completely hate the cotton candy scent. If you like the this scent, then this shampoo is pretty good.2
