As the saying goes, a jack of all trades is typically a master of none. Not so for amika™’s Bombshell Blowout spray, which successfully works on both damp and dry hair to give you the perfect bombshell blowout. The lightweight spray performs a variety of functions, protecting, nourishing, smoothing, and volumizing hair. We apply it to damp strands before blow-drying to provide heat protection, texture, and lift. It also serves as a light hold mist for dry hair and can facilitate restyling. In keeping with its multipurpose personality, it works on all hair types, including color-treated hair.
I usually love Amika products but I just can't figure this one out. It makes my hair sticky and hard to manage. I can't run my fingers through it and it's impossible to get a brush through to the ends while blow-drying. I'm bummed because a lot of the other reviews for this product were so great which is why I bought it, but unfortunately this bottle is just thrown under my sink somewhere with the rest of the 'meh' products I've tried.1
This is a powerful spray! The first go around I used 6 sprays (What I typically use with my previous blow out spray) and my hair turned out heavy and a bit straw like. Once I tried it again with 2-3 sprays, it worked like magic to give my hair some extra oomph! Highly suggest using either a round bristle brush while blow drying or drying your hair bent over to get the max volume with this spray.1
I didnt really like this spray very much. Made my hair feel too stiff. I wish it made it more soft.1
I wanted to love this! It has everything I look for in a volumizing/blow-out spray. Nourishing, free of parabens and other nastys, and color-safe. I splurged on a full-size bottle of this and their Perk Up Dry Shampoo.
I've been using both of these products for about 2 months now, and I've got a product build-up issue going on. My hair feels like straw. The spray makes my fine hair sticky - so sticky that it's hard to comb through. I've tried using just a little bit and got the same result. The dry shampoo leaves my hair weighed down, sticky and like straw.
I'm guessing it's the rice starch, and it's just not a good formula for fine hair. Now I need to unload 2 full-sized products so they don't go to waste...and find a nourishing, paraben-free and color safe clarifying shampoo.
Ladies...you know that gross product sticky film that gets on your hair with certain products....this one is def one of them. Its asvif you sprayed straight hair spray on your hair. I cannot even get the brush through it. I tried using a light mist and putting it on heavy both with the same outcome. Nothing more frustrating then having to re wash your hair the minute its dry. AWFUL product. you will see.....1
LIke the Amika oil I had tried, this product smells amazing. Unfortunately it makes my hair super sticky, to the point where all it does during my blow-dry is knot up. I'm hoping to be able to sell it to a friend or just give it way, I'd hate to throw away a full size product :(1
The product was awesome to use while actually blowing my hair dry . I have very frizzy over bleached hair that once I blow dry I usually don't need to wash it for a few days but with this product after the second day it made my hair greasy and I hate to wash after the second day.1
Perhaps I am using it wrong. After I use this spray, my hair feels dry and has a crackle to it. The spray action is nice, so I wish the product didn't feel all wrong.1
I definitely get great lift out of this spray that I haven't seen with other products. Love it, will buy full-size.1
I have long, fine hair. With this product, my hair was left feeling dry and tangled. I kept trying, though; using less and then more, on dry hair and on wet hair. No matter the amount, I couldn't run my fingers through my hair after it was styled. I guess the volume was slightly increased, but not to the point that it was worth using this product.1
