As the saying goes, a jack of all trades is typically a master of none. Not so for amika's Bombshell Blowout spray. The lightweight spray works on both damp and dry hair to give you the perfect blowout, protecting, nourishing, smoothing, and volumizing hair. We apply it to damp strands before blow-drying to provide heat protection, texture, and lift. It also serves as a light hold mist for dry hair and can facilitate restyling. In keeping with its multipurpose personality, it works on all hair types, including color-treated hair. The spray is contains obliphica (sea buckthorn berry) oil, which offers a laundry list of powerful ingredients: antioxidants, vitamins, and healthy omega fatty acids. Together, they moisturize and strengthen, repair split ends, enhance shine, and restore hair's natural balance. Plus, the spray is free of parabens and artificial colors.
I don't blowdry my hair. Ever. I'm not going to blowdry my hair to try a product, so I can't speak to that. I did try it in my dry hair ("restyling" as the bottle says) to see if it will give my second-day hair some texture. It has a nice fragrance and did an ok job.3
I tried this for the first time yesterday. This stuff really works! Maybe a little bit too well. I have short hair so it gave me a lot more volume than I needed. This is probably something I will use more as my hair grows out and gets heavier.4
I don't typically put product in my hair bc I don't like when my hair is weighed down. I would use this going out on the town. Has a beachy quality. Gives you beach hair with body. I like it.4
I love all Amika products and the blowout spray is no exception. This product smells great and seemed to add great volume to my thin hair.5
Love the design on bottle...it has a nice smell and did give my hair more volume and shine....great product...4
I like the fact that it's a heat protectant, but beyond that, it mostly made my hair have a weird texture and I don't think it made it shinier or better in any way. (I have naturally wavy hair so maybe the waves disagreed with it?)2
Although I have pretty short hair I did try it out. I did like the amt. Of volume & lift it gave my hair. The scent was nice too & didn't leave my hair feeling stiff or sticky.3
Just didn't do anything special for me, my hair seemed the same as if I wasn't using it. Too bad.3
I have used other amika hair products before, and I loved them, but I was slightly disappointed with this product. I already use another, cheaper, blow dry spray, and I feel like it works better than the amika product. I wanted this product to leave my hair extra smooth and shiny, and although I feel like my blow dry looked nice, it wasn't as sleek as I was hoping. I ended up using some of my other products on top of it to get my desired finish. I do love this brand usually though, and I love the packaging/branding.3
I sprayed this product onto my dry hair and then styled it with the curling iron and my hair was not frizzy, which is usually a problem for me.5
