Forget pasta, gelato, and pizza—these fresh-scented lotions prove that Italian-made treats don’t need to be carb-heavy to be completely decadent. Made with certified organic citrus fruits and plants grown in southern Italy, this line of rich-yet-lightweight lotions will soften skin, leaving you smelling like you just stepped off the plane from a last-minute Mediterranean getaway.
I was pretty excited to get this lotion because it sounded like any of the scents would smell amazing. I ended up with the Lemon and Peach scent in my Birchbox - at least to me, it smells neither like lemon nor peach, smells much more floral. I do like the consistency - much more moisture-y and less oily, if you get what I mean.1
did not like this product. thank god it was only a sample1
Although the lotion went on well and wasn't greasy feeling the fragrance of this lotion was not pleasant at all. I actually had to wash my hands after I used it the smell was so offensive.1
The sample I received was Peach & Lemon scent. I feel like it did not smell like either of those, but more like play-doh. I do like the texture, it is rich and creamy, which is good for my hands and feet, yet I can not get over the smell. Possibly another scent would be better for me. The sample packaging looks different than the regular size, however, the sample size is a square squeeze bottle that doesn't allow you to get all of the product out. I feel it was poorly thought out. I will not be buying this product.1
This is probably one of the least effective samples I've gotten from Birchbox. I used it on my feet which have gotten pretty dry from neglect this summer. Even with ordinary and cheap generic pharmacy store brand lotion, my feet get pretty moisturized and will improve greatly over the course of a week of some TLC. I tried this same routine with this product and it did less than zilch. Even while putting it on my feet STILL looked dry and ashy. I even started using it twice a day and they NEVER got better. I finally started using the cheap generic on one foot (once a day) and this on the other twice a day and it was far surpassed by the cheap stuff in a couple of days. Horrible. Don't waste your money!1
While this lotion feels amazing on my hands, I just cannot get over the smell. Its strange, but I really pick up on the Olive Oil. While I'm Italian and really love olive oil, I just don't want to smell it in a lotion. The scent does fade after a while, but I just think unfortunately its a no for me.1
I attempted to use this product, however the smell nauseated me to the point that I had to wash it off.1
Oh my gosh this lotion smells soooo bad! I tried it once and ended up throwing it out. I know the ingredients are supposed to be natural/organic but it has this incredibly powerful scent that smells like some sort of lemon cleaner....almost a chemical smell. It's really really bad. I ended up trying to wash it off but even then the smell wasn't completely gone. I would never purchase this product again.1
Overall the lotion is a good product, however, I don't like the Olive & Rose scent at all. It definitely doesn't remind me of an Italian dessert, but maybe the other scents offered are better.1
This product is just a little too thick and a little too greasy. The smell is a little too much like soap as well. I used this on my legs in the afternoon after shaving in the a.m. and within fifteen minutes my legs were itchy and red. This one is just not for me.1
