While ‘wash and wear’ is fine and dandy for some, curly hair girls know that it takes a bit more effort to get gorgeous hair every day. To that end, Ouidad’s Climate Control Heat & Humidity Gel is a lifesaver, with a unique formula that responds (read: defrizzes) to humidity. We love how the formula tames frizz and coaxes unruly curls into shape without leaving them crunchy.
I got this as part of the Perfect Curl Collection box and I had high hopes for it because I need gel to keep my curls tame on a daily basis. It has a nice scent but unfortunately when this product dries it creates a ton of flakes in my hair and leaves my curls looking limp and greasy. My search for the perfect gel continues.1
I had such high hopes for this product. I received it in the Perfect Curl Collection, and it was the first item I wanted to try. I followed the directions exactly (they were a little more complicated than I expected). Unfortunately, it left my hair frizzy and out of control. It is a very lightweight product-- it is called a "gel," but I'd say it seems to be a gel-like, thickened serum. It definitely doesn't leave the hair feeling crunchy, but it did leave behind too much frizz for me to purchase the full size.1
product does not work on my curly, frizzy hair. seems that the products absorbed extremely fast into my hair. too bad!1
This thick gel is not made for anyone who has fine hair. I used the smallest amount yet it still weighed down my hair. It was not "crunchy", which was the only positive thing to say.1
A little confused as to why I received this product. I have stick-straight, baby-soft hair. I would never put gel in my locks and this is absolutely useless for me. I thought this is why I filled out the beauty profile, so I only would receive products that would be useful for me??1
I don't have curly hair at all, so I'm not sure why this product was in my box. I tried it anyway, and meh. Serums and oils seem to work better on my very straight, very fine hair. This was a bummer, for me. :(1
I not only didn't love it, I completely hated it. The gel was super sticky just on my hands and I couldn't imagine putting it on my hair. As it is, when I went to wash it off my fingers it would not come off and they still felt sticky after a thorough soap and scrub. I opened this packet, took out a little and had to throw it away. It was just too thick and sticky for me.1
I didn't want to try the Ouidad Climate Control Heat and Humidity gel on a work day since I didn't know how it would go. The product claims to defriz curls without leaving them crunchy. I followed their "rake and shake" instructions where you start at the nape of your neck and apply a small amount of product by raking your hands through your hair then shaking it to get the curl reset. This is done in chunks until you've gotten all your hair. I was at first super impressed - wow, it really did a nice job of enhancing my natural curls. Until it dried. I'm not sure where they got the "no crunch" from but my hair felt like straw once it was dry. The next day I brushed it out and it got better - but it still wasn't great. My overall impression is that I will not be purchasing this ever. I suppose I've had crunchier hair from other products, but I'd rather not have any crunch.1
This just did not work, I followed the instructions and my hair still got kinky in the humidity, no difference whatsoever1
Honestly, this did not do anything for my very wavy/slightly curly hair. I live in a very humid area and my high expectations were not anywhere near being met where frizz control was concerned. My hair also felt and looked slightly greasy as well.1
