While ‘wash and wear’ is fine and dandy for some, curly hair girls know that it takes a bit more effort to get gorgeous hair every day. To that end, Ouidad’s Climate Control Heat & Humidity Gel is a lifesaver, with a unique formula that responds (read: defrizzes) to humidity. We love how the formula tames frizz and coaxes unruly curls into shape without leaving them crunchy.
I don't think it was the right product for my hair type. It smells really good, but I don't have curly hair. It felt a little sticky and didn't really do anything to improve the look of my hair.2
I can't really blame the product for my terrible hair. I did like that it did not feel heavy or "crunchy". However, my hair gets very tight spiral curls around my whole hair line and at the nape of my neck. The middle and top layers are wavy. This is a bad, bad combo!!! It's impossible to find a product that will help me put more curl into the middle and top while not making the already-curly parts even curlier. It would be a blessing to not have to flat iron my hair, but until a miracle product is invented.... I still haven't found one yet.2
I live in the South, where we suffer from gross humidity about 10 months a year, and this product did not pass the test. The only way I could get pretty, soft curls was if I stayed inside a well air-conditioned house until my hair was dry. If I tried to venture out into the humidity within and hour and a half of showering, my hair was a total frizz ball. I added a layer of anti-frizz hair spray and that seemed to help a lot but alone, this product was "meh."3
this product definitely helped my curls when paired with another product, but barely did anything when used on its own. I was hoping for at least a little bit of hold when used by itself3
I live in a dry, desert y climate, so this product left my hair flat and lifeless, reducing my curls to unmanageable waves. If you live in a more humid clime, it might work better for you.3
Prefer the tresFX. This didn't hold as well. And it's sticky.3
I have a love hate relationship with this product. It really does not keep frizz at bay on a super humid day. I have super thick curly hair. I have tried this in past and thought I would try again. I will save it for winter. I think it would work well on thinner hair? The consistency is nice. It smells like cinnamon to me, which isn't terrible and seems to go away after hair is dry.3
I had really high hopes for this product, with promises about it producing soft curls, however I did not find this to be the case. I found my curls to be kind of crunchy, incredibly tangled later and even a bit sticky/knotted together. Do not reccommend.3
feels a little too heavy & strive on my hair. However it does the job. it only work for me when i let it air dry then it will give a nice wavy look.3
I have fine, naturally curly hair and I had heard such great reviews from other curly girls about this product. It worked good for me to keep my curls curly without being crunchy, but it just didn't 'wow' me anymore than my usual product. If you have hair that doesn't hold curl well, I think this would work perfectly for you. My hair seems to do quite well on its own.3
