While ‘wash and wear’ is fine and dandy for some, curly hair girls know that it takes a bit more effort to get gorgeous hair every day. To that end, Ouidad’s Climate Control Heat & Humidity Gel is a lifesaver, with a unique formula that responds (read: defrizzes) to humidity. We love how the formula tames frizz and coaxes unruly curls into shape without leaving them crunchy.
I *just* had a Brazillian Blowout, so I'm not actually a frizzy girl at the moment (happy dance!). I have not yet tried this sample, as I don't want to mess with my hair routine right now. I'll try it in a few months when my treatment wears off. Liking the idea though, and I hadn't heard of this comapny before, so it was a good introduction; just bad timing. That aside, I was not impressed with the presentation of this sample. I have really thick hair and this is just not enough product to make an impression. The cardboard looked cheap and I think a bottle would have been much better packaging.3
I loved their instructions to "rake & shake" with the product. Very ingenious. Although I do have to admit that I have a go-to humidity defying, curl enhancing product. I would say this would be a close second, but I really shy away from products that make my hair end up crunchy. Maybe I just need more practice with this one....4
My hair is mostly straight with a slight wave, but the top layer does get frizzy. I thought this product helped tame the frizz a little, but I think my Morrocan Hair Oil works better for that purpose.4
nothing special..i live in the houston weather and it's hot and humid.. i did not notice a diff between this and the suave stuff.. so if u ask me.. no i would def not spend tons more for the same results3
I live in TN and it gets humid in the summertime. My hair gets frizzy after I take a shower and the only way to control it is to keep it in a bun until it dries (or go to bed with wet hair). The Climate Control Heat & Humidity Gel didn't do much for me. I still had frizzy hair once it dried.3
My hair is so heavy that I was doubtful this would work! I was scared to use too much because i didnt want the "crunchy" factor but next time I will use more. Left more hair smooth and soft...smells great!4
I really, really liked this product! Probably my favorite in the BIRCHBOX this month. I have curly hair but usually straighten it....I've worn my hair curly three times since this product arrived. Great results and will definitely purchase in the future.5
This stuff is great, no residue, my curly hair looks moisturized. Probably the first thing i've loved from birchbox (besides that kind bar) and the only thing that kept me from canceling next months box. They have an excellent deal on HSN you get a lot of Ouidad items for $30.5
I didn't want to try the Ouidad Climate Control Heat and Humidity gel on a work day since I didn't know how it would go. The product claims to defriz curls without leaving them crunchy. I followed their "rake and shake" instructions where you start at the nape of your neck and apply a small amount of product by raking your hands through your hair then shaking it to get the curl reset. This is done in chunks until you've gotten all your hair. I was at first super impressed - wow, it really did a nice job of enhancing my natural curls. Until it dried. I'm not sure where they got the "no crunch" from but my hair felt like straw once it was dry. The next day I brushed it out and it got better - but it still wasn't great. My overall impression is that I will not be purchasing this ever. I suppose I've had crunchier hair from other products, but I'd rather not have any crunch.1
I've heard of this brand and always wanted to try it, but I never have. Only complaint about this gel is it makes my hair slightly stiffer then I'm used to, but it cut the frizz and did define my curls.3
