When it comes to living life “as nature intended,” we like to take the good parts and leave the rest (nature can keep those harmful UV rays to herself, thank you). This oil-free SPF 30 moisturizer is definitely all good. Armed with the natural sun-protecting mineral zinc oxide, it guards against broad-spectrum UV rays while dosing our skin with a variety of plant-derived nutrients. Designed for oily and acne-prone skin, it brightens, soothes, renews, and protects without clogging pores.
I was really excited to purchase this product, but found it to be like putting on paste. Very odd smell, very thick consistency, made my skin very oily. Wish I could return it!1
i love everything from juice beauty but unfortunately this product did not work for me. I really wanted this to work b/c of its non-toxic SPF, however, after about 10 days I noticed that my skin was dry and felt like a crust was forming over my face. I didn't think it was the moisturizer b/c I use Juice's regular sunscreen almost everyday with no problems. But once I discontinued use, my face went back to normal. Will have to find something else. :(1
Left a residue on my face and smells terrible. I've used moisturizers from the dollar store that have been a lot better than this. Tossing the sample.1
Have used all types of products on my face and this has never happened...almost instantly I had a burning sensation and a blotchy mess on my face.. will not be finishing the sample1
I respect the fact that this moisturizer is organic and oil free. The major problem is that it is also extremely sticky and leaves my skin very tight feeling. I am glad I had the opportunity to sample it but I would not purchase the full size product.1
I love Juice Beauty, but this product is far too thick and paste-like for me. On the upside, the smell is pleasant and I felt sure the SPF was protecting my skin. I didn't feel moisturized, though - more like I was wearing zinc all over my face.2
This is surprisingly thick and doesn't sink into my skin well, plus has a strong scent. It feels more like a mineral sunscreen meant for the body than like a facial moisturizer, and it doesn't even leave my skin feeling moisturized. I love a moisturizer with an SPF, and have loved most other Juice Beauty products, but this one just doesn't work for me.2
I received the regular juice oil-free moisturizer in my Birchbox and loved it. I ordered this version, since I like using a moisturizer with SPF built in, and found it to be really thick and way different from the non-SPF version. Returning it. It's also really hard to smooth onto skin - just super thick.2
Because this is an organic product I really wanted to like it. Unfortunately it just didn't do it for me. First of all, it was a rather thin consistency coming out of the tube. Second, I hated the smell of it. Finally, it left my skin feeling very sticky and even a little tight. Will not be purchasing this.2
I have been using this moisturizer on my face every single day for almost a year. I have a very unfortunate "photoallergy" to most chemical sunscreen ingredients. Which means I can put them on my skin, but once my skin is exposed to UV light, they give me a rash. The only thing that seems to be ok for SPF on me is Zinc. It is VERY hard to find a zinc-only based facial sunscreen that is not made with nano zinc but also rubs in enough so the inevitable white cast is barely noticeable. I have tried so many zinc face formulations that were too white, too chalky, or gave me breakouts, and this seems to be the best out there that I have found so far. I am lucky to have pretty normal skin. I eat well, and take care of my skin, so no problems with oily or dry patches. Yes, this is a very thick formulation, but it still spreads fairly easily and I am able to rub it in so that there is barely a white tint to my skin which seems to fade after a few minutes. While it is thick, I would not describe it as greasy, it just has a heavier feel. The texture is not wonderful, but I can deal with the thickness. I use a BHA serum and a separate moisturizer to create a barrier (as instructed by my aesthetician) before using this as my SPF, followed by a tinted mineral foundation to finish and even out my color. This would be the perfect product for me if it contained greater amounts of antioxidants and most importantly, did NOT contain citrus oils, which are mildly irritating to my skin.3
