When it comes to living life “as nature intended,” we like to take the good parts and leave the rest (nature can keep those harmful UV rays to herself, thank you). This oil-free SPF 30 moisturizer is definitely all good. Armed with the natural sun-protecting mineral zinc oxide, it guards against broad-spectrum UV rays while dosing our skin with a variety of plant-derived nutrients. Designed for oily and acne-prone skin, it brightens, soothes, renews, and protects without clogging pores.
I liked this product especially because it's supposed to be all natural but it's a little thick and sticky for me. I guess that's a good thing if you're going to be in the sun for a while though so I use it then.4
I've used this product a few times now and really, it's more of a sunscreen than a moisturizer. It is super thick, really white at first, and smells, well, terrible--but the smell goes away soon after application. It smells like cigarettes to me, which frankly is terrible, but somehow the smells dissipates quickly once it's on the skin. I'm on the fence about this product as the zinc is so white, it didn't totally dissolve on my really dry patches/breakouts, but otherwise it blended well on the healthier parts of my skin. Not sheer whatsoever though, not liquidy, it's a very thick, very goopy/creamy formula, but it feels nourishing on the face and I love that Juice gets great ratings from the EWG. We shall see...3
I love that this is natural and a high SPF. I agree it's a thick sunscreen, so it maybe shouldn't be called a moisturizer, but that's expected considering that it's a physical sunscreen (titanium/zinc, not chemical sunscreen). I mix mine with a little bit of light facial moisturizer to thin out the consistency, and then do a mix of patting on/rubbing in.5
it's a little too wet of a product, and it didn't really work well for my skin type3
I am a 42 yr old woman w/ adult acne & oily skin (yay! 40's) I absolutely love this moisturizer. i used so many others trying to fidn one that didn't make my alreday oily skin even more oily. Even products recommended by my Dermatologist didn't work. This stuff moisturizers my skin, protects it w/ SPF, and doesn't make it greasy. Plus, its' organic & cruelty free. truly a superior product. i can wear it alone or under make up without any issues. even when I sweat (I live in the tropics, so that's year round) my skin isn't greasy & it doesn't make me break out.5
I have been using this moisturizer on my face every single day for almost a year. I have a very unfortunate "photoallergy" to most chemical sunscreen ingredients. Which means I can put them on my skin, but once my skin is exposed to UV light, they give me a rash. The only thing that seems to be ok for SPF on me is Zinc. It is VERY hard to find a zinc-only based facial sunscreen that is not made with nano zinc but also rubs in enough so the inevitable white cast is barely noticeable. I have tried so many zinc face formulations that were too white, too chalky, or gave me breakouts, and this seems to be the best out there that I have found so far. I am lucky to have pretty normal skin. I eat well, and take care of my skin, so no problems with oily or dry patches. Yes, this is a very thick formulation, but it still spreads fairly easily and I am able to rub it in so that there is barely a white tint to my skin which seems to fade after a few minutes. While it is thick, I would not describe it as greasy, it just has a heavier feel. The texture is not wonderful, but I can deal with the thickness. I use a BHA serum and a separate moisturizer to create a barrier (as instructed by my aesthetician) before using this as my SPF, followed by a tinted mineral foundation to finish and even out my color. This would be the perfect product for me if it contained greater amounts of antioxidants and most importantly, did NOT contain citrus oils, which are mildly irritating to my skin.3
I've been using this moisturizer for about 2 weeks and I'm still not sure if it is the one for me... It is a little thicker than I am use too and I'm not sure that is the best thing for my skin. But the smell is great and my skin feels great. So my plan is to use the whole tube and then make a final decision.3
Yes this is a very thick moisturizer but I love it. It feels good after its all rubbed into the skin and I love that I'm protected from the sun. It does smell like grass, but it doesn't bother me.5
I love Juice Beauty, but this product is far too thick and paste-like for me. On the upside, the smell is pleasant and I felt sure the SPF was protecting my skin. I didn't feel moisturized, though - more like I was wearing zinc all over my face.2
I was really excited to purchase this product, but found it to be like putting on paste. Very odd smell, very thick consistency, made my skin very oily. Wish I could return it!1
